William G. Rutland, 22, of
Arnold Court, Olcott, son of
Krull Park Superintendent
Richard Rutland, was pronounced
dead at the scene.
He suffered multiple fractures.

Mr. Rutland, an employe of
Merritt, Chapman, Scott Company
at the power project was
northbound. His 1956 modl
auto left the highway, sheared
off two utility poles and ran
over bushes and shrubs at
the Mains Home.
Funeral services for the
Rutland youth will be held
at 2 p.m. Sunday, which would
have been his 23rd birthday.
The Rev. George Manning of
Olcott Methodist Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Corwin
Cemetery. Friends may
call at the Corwin Funeral
Home, Newfane, Friday and
Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7
to 9 p.m.
He was born Dec. 27, 1936,
the son of Richard L. and Ohalee
Mahl Rutland, who survive
him. He was a graduate of
Wilson Central High School in
1955 and had been .employed
as an operating engineer on
the Niagara Power Project.
Surviving, in addition to the
parents, in Olcott, are a sister,
Mrs. David Chase, of Lockport;
three brothers, Kenneth, Richard
Jr. and Jerry Rutland, all
of Olcott, and his paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert J. Rutland, of Wilson.

Richard married MAHL, Onalee Estelle about Oct 1928. Onalee (daughter of MAHL, Charles Daniel and DAVIS, Estella Roseanne) was born on 16 Jul 1910 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY; died in May 1985 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Richard Rutland, nee Onalee
Mabl, was guest of honor at a party
given by Miss Grace Rutland of North
Maln street Saturday evening. Cards
were played, first ladies' prize going
to Mrs. George Mills and men's to
Richard Rutland while Thomas Buckl-
e y received the consolation award.
Following the games, supper was served,
the color scheme being green and silver.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rutland
were presented with a tea set.

NEWFANE-Robert J. Rutland.
82, of Lake Road, died
suddenly Friday (July 20,
1962) at Inter-Community
Memorial Hospital.
He was a farmer for the
last 28 years. Prior to that he
was employed at the Palmer
Lumber Co., Tonawanda. For
several years Mr. Rutland
was a member of Newfane
Lodge No. 392, IOOF and the
Farm Bureau and was a onetime
chairman of the Board
of Elections in Wilson.
Survivors include his widow
J. Hazel Rutland, four daughters,
Mrs. William (Dorothy)
Lawrence, Snyder; Mrs. Arthur
(Eugenia) Albright, Newfane;
Mrs. Edwin (Claire)
Ponthier, East Aurora; and
Mrs. Joseph (Louise) Ponthier,
Orchard Park; two sons
Clifton J. Rutland, Buffalo,
and Richard L. Rutland, Olcott;
and two step-sons, Samuel
McCoy, Wilson, and Clifford
McCoy. Olcott. Also 25
grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
The Odd Fellows will hold
a memorial .service at the
Corwin Funeral Home at 9
p.m. Sunday. Funeral services
will be held at 2 p.m. Monday
with Rev. Ernest Kerrison,
Wilson Methodist Church,
officiating.
Friends may call at the fu-
neral home from 2 to 5 and
7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in
Corwin. Cemetery

NEWFANE. May 1.-Mrs. Metta I.
Ruthland, wife of Robert J. Rutland,
died late yesterday afternoon at the
family home in Lincoln Court. Funeral
services will be held from thc home
en Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock standard
time with interment in Corwin
cemetery.
Mrs. Ruthland had lived in this vicinity
all her life and was one of the
most respected members of the com-
munity. While she had been in poor
health for some time her death was
rather sudden and a great shock to a
host of friends.
Besides her husband she is survived
by four daughters and two sons. Mrs.
Leigh Bradley, of Kenmore, Clifton,
of Buffalo. Eugenia. Claire and Louise,
at home, and Richard, of Newfane.
three grandchildren, and one brother.
Elmer Stratton, of Burt.

band of the late Estella Davis
Mahl, Newfane, N. Y., Sunday,
(Oct. 10, 1954) Father of mrs.
Richard Rutland Sr. of Olcott; also
survived by five grandchildren,
two brothers and five sisters, Mrs.
Ida Schultz, Mrs. Mary Hartwig,
John Mahl Fred Mahl, Mrs Eve-
lyn Melville, Mrs. Rose Krull. all
of Tonawanda, and Mrs. W i l l i a m
Reackhoff of Newfane. Several
nieces and nephews also survive
Friends may call at the Corwin
Funeral Home, 27 N. Main St.,
Newfane, where services will be
at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will
be in Corwin Cemetery, Newfane.

NEWFANE. April 26-Services
for Mrs. Estella R. Mahl will be
held at the Corwin Funeral home at
2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev.
Daniel Place, of the Methodist
church, officiating. Burial will be
in Corwin cemetery.
Mrs. Mahl died suddenly at her
home. 57 -North Main street, yesterday
although she had been in
failing health for the last four years.
She was a daughter of the late
George and Augusua Spitzer Davis.
She was born in Buffalo but had
lived here for 45 years.
For 30 years she was a telephone
operator here. She was a member of
Cheer Rebekah lodge, the Metho-
dist church and a former active
member of the Auxiliary of Miller
Hose company.
She is survived by her husband,
Charles, at home; one daughter.

grandchildren, Olcott; two sisters,
Mrs. Cecil Manchester, Grand
Island, and Mrs. Fred Monin, Forestville,
and three brothers. William
Davis, Buffalo, and George and
Charles Davis, Florida.
