NIAGARA FALLS — Mary E. Thompson, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, in the Niagara Rehabilitation and Health Center. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on August 6, 1929, the daughter of the late George J. and Helen M. (Givan) Fritz.

Mrs. Thompson was secretary with DuPont Chemical Co. for eight years, and at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, playing Bridge, doing word puzzles and cooking.

She was the wife of the late Harry T. Thompson, who died October of 1979.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Annmarie (Allen) Fields of Maryville, TN and Mary Beth (Anthony) Licastro of Niagara Falls, NY; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron, Olivia, Ethan, Adam, Sarah, Alex and Gabrielle. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, on Saturday from 9-11:00 AM, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. James J. Kasinski officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
