    Notes:

    Age 89, of Cambria, New York, entered into rest on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Ronald was born on May 10, 1931 on the Family Farm in Sanborn, New York. Ronald had a great sense of humor and was known to always express that the Doctor's fee for his delivery at his family home was $15.00. He was the son of the late Alton and Irene (Blank) Wendt. He married Barbara Szathmary in August of 1952 and they enjoyed 45 wonderful years together. Ron was a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Marching Band for over 50 years where he played bass-horn. He worked for the Niagara County Highway Department for over 20 years. Ron was the owner of Morning Dale Farms formerly of Sanborn, New York and Lockport, New York. Ron loved to work-hard and was an active Farmer his entire life. He had a love for John Deere tractors and enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, hunting in the Adirondacks with his hunting partners for 50 straight years. He enjoyed sharing his hunting stories from hunting in the Adirondacks with friends and Family. Ron was a lifetime member of the NRA and staunch defender of the Second Amendment. He was a life-long member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda until its closing. Ron enjoyed spending time with his Family.
    His wife Barbara passed away in June of 1998.
    Ron is survived by his sons David R. (Melissa) Wendt and Michael S. (Elaine) Wendt, five grandchildren Stephen, Matthew (Bridget), Robert, John and Thomas, a sister Marlyn (late Carl) Gross, a brother Joel (Barbara) Wendt, two brother in laws Robert (late Helen) Perry and Joseph (Barbara) Szathmary, also several nieces and nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Loraine (Kenneth) Witkop and Jane (Edgar) Kroening.
    Funeral Services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of and for his immediate Family only.

    area by the local Junior Chamber
    of Commerce. ;

    and farmer, was named
    Thursday night at the annual
    Jaycee meeting at the Bergholtz
    firehall.
    "I sure was surprised when
    they read my name," Mr.
    Wendt said in his soft-spoken
    manner." I was so nervous I
    couldn't speak very well."

    Mr. Wendt operates 400
    acres of land near his home
    here. The land is devoted to
    "general farming.' He also
    has about 80 head of cattle.
    He is married to the former
    Barbara Szathmary of St.;
    Johnsburg and the couple has
    two children, David, .3, and
    Michael, 9 months.
    Mr. Wendt was born in Sanborn,
    son of Alton and Irene
    Wendt, and has been "on his
    own" in farming since he was
    18'years old.
    Besides farming, Mr. Wendt
    takes an active interest in his
    church. He is a member. of
    St. Paul's Lutheran Church,
    North Tonawanda, where he
    is a trustee on, the church
    council and wa$ a delegate
    to the Buffalo-Lake Ontario
    conference last summer.

    11-yeaT member of the Sanborn
    Volunteers Fire Co. and
    a 15-year member of the talented
    Sanborn Band Association
    and is on t h e band's
    board of directors. He also is

    Barbara Wendt, a retired teacher's aide, died Friday (June 5, 1998) in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, after suffering an apparent heart attack in her home.
    Mrs. Wendt, 65, of Saunders Settlement Road, was born Barbara Szathmary in Levittown, Pa. She moved to the Black Rock section of Buffalo as a child.
    The family moved to North Tonawanda in the 1940s and she graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1949.
    Mrs. Wendt worked for 12 years for National Grinding Wheel in North Tonawanda. She then was employed for 15 years as a teacher's aide, working with autistic children for the Orleans-Niagara Board of Cooperative Educational Services, retiring in 1992.
    She was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. She had also been active for many years as a leader in the 4-H program.
    Mrs. Wendt had wintered in Plant City, Fla., for the past few years.
    She enjoyed music, dancing, antiques and doll collecting.
    Mrs. Wendt is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald A.; two sons, Michael S. of Medina and David R.; two brothers, Paul Szathmary of North Tonawanda and Joseph Szathmary; a sister, Helen Perry; and four grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 66 East Felton St., North Tonawanda. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton

    LOCKPORT - Alton P. Wendt of the Briody Nursing Home, a former Town of Cambria highway superintendent, died Sunday (Nov. 7, 1982) after a lengthy illness. He was 78.
    A native of Sanborn, Wendt also operated a dairy farm, worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and was a well driller. He had worked for the Town of Cambria Highway Department for nine years, retiring in 1970. Wendt was a member of the Exempt Firemen, Sanborn, the Lutheran Brotherhood and the Highway Superintendent's Association. He was the husband of the late Irene Wendt.
    Survivors include sons Ronald and Joel, both of Lockport; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Witkop and Mrs. Edgar (Jane) Kroening, both of Sanborn, and Mrs. Carl (Marlyn) Gross of North Tonawanda; brother Arnold of Niagara Falls; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, N.Y., with the Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Rhoney Funeral Home,. 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Contributions to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church memorial fund are acceptable as tribute.

    TOWN OF CAMBRIA - Mrs. Irene E. Wendt, 65, of 5914 Meahl Road, died Saturday (July 29, 1972) in Buffalo General Hospital after a three month illness. She was a native of the Town of Niagara and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, and was a member of the church's Service Circle.
