her residence after a brief
illness. Born in
Dubois, Pa., she had
been a resident of
North Tonawanda for
the past 38 years and
was the wife of John S.
Ross who died in 1967
and mother of the late
Florence P. Ross, Janet
I. Ross, and John V.
Ross, and sister of the
later John W., Theophololis
C., Benjamen J.
George C. and Samuel
Merle Williams.
Mrs. Ross was a
member of Tonawanda
United Methodist
Church and Augustus H.
Crown Chapter 619
OES.
She is survived by
seven daughters, Mrs.
Thomas (Jess) Garrity
of Tonawanda; Mrs.
Marion Miller of the
Town of Tonawanda;
Mrs. Donald H. (Nancy)
Thorpe fo Williamsville,
Mrs. Frank (Ann)
Gentzke of Tonawanda,
Mrs. Robert (Dorothy)
Scott of Cheektowaga,
Mrs. Catherine Briggs
of Sanborn, and Mrs.
William (Iona) Balls of
Tonawanda; two sons
Samuel (Ethel) Ross of
Tonawand and William
(Frances) Ross of
North Tonawanda; two
sisters, Mrs. Clara E.
Harris of Dubois, Pa.,
and Mrs. Ruth C. Smith
of Falls Creek, Pa.; 23
grandchildren, 35
great-grandchildren
and many nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were
conducted at the family
residence, 41
Washington St., North
Tonawanda at 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday by the Rev.
Eldon D. Snyder. Burial
at Elmlawn Cemetery.
