Lawrence "Laurie" Wardell, age 92, of North Tonawanda, Sunday, March 15th, 2015 at Northgate Hospice Facility. He was son of the George Barton and Ruth (Thayer) Wardell.
Founder and owner of Wardell Boat Yard, Mr. Wardell was an avid boater who spent many of his years on the Niagara River and in the 1000 Islands. As a member of the US Navy, he served overseas in the Philippines as a floating dry dock crane operator. He was a life member of the BPO 860 Elks Lodge and was exalted ruler in 1962.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolores Camp Wardell; two children, Dennis Wardell and Susan (Douglas)Berry. Loving grandfather of Lauren Berry of California and Lindsay Berry of Colorado.
