    An investigation into the death
    In Memorial hospital today of Mrs.
    Norma Zuch, 27, of 146 Seventyseventh
    street, was under way at
    press time by Coroner James W.
    Heary. who said that It was reported
    that the woman died of self-administered
    poisoning.
    Mrs. Zuch was admitted to the
    hospital early on the morning of
    February 27 after she had allegedly
    swallowed two tablets from a prescription
    containing bichloride of
    mercury. The prescription was obtained
    from a North Tonawanda
    physician and was Intended for external
    use" only.
    A police Investigation at the time
    revealed that Mrs. Zuch had been to
    see the North Tonawanda physician
    and after returning home at 3:45
    a. m. told her husband that she and
    a- woman companion had stopped In
    a North Tonawanda tavern.
    The husband, Earl Zuch, told
    police that his wife had taken the
    tablets a short time after returning
    home and immediately became ill.
    He said that he did not know what
    was wrong with her until she admitted
    taking the tablets. She was
    rushed to the hospital and had been
    there since.

    Walter Baer of Sanborn, N. Y.. announce
    the marriage of their
    daughter, Miss Norma Ruth to First
    Sergeant Earl J. Zuch, son of Mr
    and Mrs. Benjamin Zuch, of Campbell
    boulevard.
    The ceremony took place in Zion
    Lutheran church, Abilene, Texas at
    3:30 p. m.. May 22, with the Rev.
    H. L. Wiederaenders officiating.
    The attendants .were Miss Evelyn
    Zuch and Raymond Zuch, sister
    and brother of the groom.
    Mr.. and Mrs. Zuch are residing
    at 3040 South Seventh street, Abilene,
    Texas.

    Baer, 91 years old, died at her home
    In the Lockport road, Sanborn, early
    today. She was the widow of Daniel
    L. Baer and the mother of Walter O.
    Baer, of Niagara Falls: William and
    Ida Baer, at home, and seven grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held
    from the family home Saturday at
    2:30, standard time. Burial will be in
    Shawnee cemetery.
    Mrs. Baer was born in Greenvllle,
    Pa., daughter of the late Eliza Grow
    and David Baer. She married Daniel
    Baer in 1863 and had lived in this
    vicinity practically all her life. She
    was a member of the Church of Christ
    at Niagara Falls

    The Bear, road running south
    from the Ridge road to the Lock-.
    port road is not named after the
    bears that roamed the woods there
    in the early days, but after an
    old settler on the road named
    Jonas Baer who settled there in
    the 1830's. He married a 16-year-old
    French girl who .could not
    speak a word of. English. She
    -went to school nearby to learn
    English.. He was a weaver by
    trade, raised his own flax arid
    wove linens. He also wove woolen
    carpets. The name on the road
    sign is incorrectly spelled. Jonas
    Baer lived near the south end
    of the road.
