    GRAND ISLAND — Ruth Elizabeth (Woodcock) Wendt, 82, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at her residence. Born on November 15, 1929 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Sherwood and Marjorie (Lloyd) Woodcock.

    Mrs. Wendt came to Niagara Falls, NY as a child in 1933, and attended local schools. On March 1, 1958, Ruth married Kenneth R. Wendt in Niagara Falls, NY. She was employed as a Bindery Operator for Moore Business Forms. Later, with her husband, Mrs. Wendt worked as a Vending Machine Operator. Ruth was a member of the VFW Post #9249 in Grand Island, NY. She enjoyed boating.

    In addition to her beloved husband, Mrs. Wendt is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by one brother, Willis Woodcock and one sister, Marjorie (late George) Dempster.

    There will be no prior visitation. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Community Missions of Niagara Frontier, 1570 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.     announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth
    Elizabeth, to Kenneth Richard Wendt, Ontario
    Ave. Mr. Wendt served four years in the United
    States. Air Force.
    The wedding will take place in the early spring.

    Miss Ruth Elizabeth Woodcock was married to Kenneth R. Wendt in a candlelight ceremony at 7 o'clock, March 1, 1958.
    The Rev. Frank Brocker united the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Woodcock, 15th St., with the son of the late Herbert C. Wendt, in a double ring ceremony at the Christian Missionary Alliance.
    Her father escorted the bride to the altar, which was
    banked with chrysanthemums, snapdragons and carnations.
    She selected a floor length gown of imported French lace, worn over ruffled nylon tulle. The sabrina neckline was trimmed with sequins and seed pearls. Her matching headpiece held a double veil of pure silk illusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley.
    Mrs. Marjorie Dempster was matron of honor. She wore a ballerina length frock of pink chiffon, with a shirred bodice, trimmed with satin. Her picture hat and mitts were in matching pink. Her flowers were a cascade ar-rangement of pink baby orchids and lilies of the valley.
    Wilbert Maule was the best man.
    Mrs. Evelyn Timblin played the traditional wedding
    music and Mr. and Mrs. Marin Jansen were the soloists.
    The bride's mother wore a two-tone blue chifton dress with a corsage of red roses for the dinner for the bridal party immediately following the ceremony.
    The bride selected a beige suit with a mink collar and dark accessories to wear when she left on her honeymoon
    to Miami, Florida.

    Mohawk Power Corp operator
    here for 29 years, died Sunday
    (Feb. 25, 1962) in Memorial
    Hospital after a short
    illness.
    A native of Arden, Ont., he
    had lived in Niagara Falls for
    29 years and was active in
    Masonic circles. He was a
    member of Niagara Lodge of
    Perfection No. 132, F and
    AM; the Ancient Accepted
    Scottish Rite of Buffalo and
    the Niagara Frontier Council,
    Princes of Jerusalem, F and
    AM.
    Mr. Woodcock is survived
    by his wife: Marjorie; two
    daughters, Mrs. K e n n e th
    (Ruth) Wendt, this city, and
    Mrs. George (Marjorie) Dempster,
    St. Catharines, Ont.;
    three brothers,- Charles, Gordon
    and Cecil Woodcock, all

    in 1944.
    Services will be held Wed-
    nesday at 1 p.m. at Otto
    Redanz Funeral Home, with

    ing. Burial will be in Me-
    morial Park Cemetery.
    Masonic services will be
    held by the Niagara Lodge of
