    Announcement is made of the
    marriage of Miss Ethel Ray. daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Vander G. Ray,
    3020 Lockport road, to Mr. Don G.
    Orr. son of Mr. and Mrs.' B. G.
    Orr. Laur road. The marriage took
    place Saturday afternoon at the
    Niagara United P r e s by t e r I a n
    church. The Rev. Earl D. Miller
    officiated at the ceremony.
    Mrs. Ella Bierly. sister, of the' the
    bride, soloist. was accompanied by
    the church pianist in a selection of
    church music.
    The bride, who was given In mar-
    riage by her uncle. Mr. Howard
    Whltmlre, wore a gown of white
    marquisette and Chantllly lace over
    satin. Her fingertip veil was caught
    with a tiara of orange blossoms and
    seed pearls. She carried a bouquet
    of white carnations centered with
    a white orchid.
    Miss Jeanne Segarra was' maid of
    honor. Miss Carole Whltmire,
    cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid.
    Mr. Paul Orr, brother of the
    bridegroom, was best man. Mr.
    Kenneth Bates and Mr. Jack Barclay
    were ushers.
    Following the ceremony, a reception
    was held at the church parlors
    for more than 100 guests.
    After a trip to Java. N. Y. Mr.
    and Mrs. Orr will reside at Seventyfourth
    street. The bride . wore a
    flamingo gabardine suit with blue
    accessories and corsage of orchids
    for traveling

    Vander G. Ray, 80, of 3020
    Lockport Road, died today
    (Oct. 27, 1969) in Memorial
    Hospital after a lengthy illness.
    A native of Coverton, Va.,
    he setted in Niagara Falls in
    1917.
    He was employed by the
    Lehigh Valley Railroad as an
    engineer from 1917 until 1959
    when he retired after 42 years.
    He is a member of the
    Brotherhood of L o c o m o tive
    F i r e m e n and Einginemen,
    Lodge No. 472.
    He is survived by his wife,
    Sylda W h i t m i r e Ray; two
    daughters, Mrs. Ella Bierley,
    of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Don
    (Ethel) Orr, of Fort Lauderdale,
    Fla.; four brothers, Ernest
    Ray, of Akron, Ohio; Dennis
    Ray, Erie, Pa.; Charles
    Ray, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and
    Warren Ray, of Miami, Fla.;
    four sisters, Mrs. Mary Quatc,
    of Naples, Fla.; Mrs^Ella
    Lowe, Mrs. Daisy Dressier,
    and Mrs. Nelie Rice, all of Coverton,
    Va.; and six grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the Rhoney Funeral Home Wednesday
    at 2 pjm. with the Rev.
    Wiliam J. Devine of the Niagara
    United P r e s b y t e r i an
    Church officiating. Burial will
    be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral
    home from 7 to 9 p.m.
    today and from 2 to 5 and from
    7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday

    TOWN OF NIAGARA - An
    anniversary party was held in honor
    of Mr. and Mrs. Vander G.
    Ray who observed their 35th wedding
    anniversary.
    The party was given by the
    couple's daughters, Mrs. Don Orr
    and Mrs. Forrest Bierly.
    A three-tier anniversary cake
    centered the buffet luncheon
    table.
    Oscar Whitmire of Barker, who
    was best man at the wedding,
    was present at the party. Other
    guests included Mrs. Iman Rowles
    and daughter and Mr. and Mrs.
    Earl Babcock of North Tonawanda
    and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Knouse
    of Buffalo.
    Other guests present at the wedding
    35 years ago were Mr. and
    Mrs. Howard Whitmire and Mr.
    and Mrs. Stuart Whitmire.
