    BUFFALO — James J. Carere, age 60, of North Tonawanda, passed away January 7, 2011 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, following a long illness. Mr. Carere was born February 23, 1950 in North Tonawanda, son of the late Joseph and Adelaide Carere.

    Mr. Carere, a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, graduated from North Tonawanda High School and Buffalo State College. Mr. Carere enjoyed being surrounded by his family and sharing family traditions. He was a very talented man, designing and constructing a vacation home on the lake for his family.

    Beloved husband of Kathleen (Stenzel) Carere; devoted father of Jamie (Erik) Sumi and Joseph Carere, both of North Tonawanda; loving grandfather of Ava and Dylan; also survived by an uncle, Anthony Clementino and many close cousins.

    Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 15 at 11:00 AM at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd., Tonawanda. Flowers gratefully declined. Arrangements by Wattengel Funeral Home (692-0440).

    NORTH TONAWANDA —
    Carl C. Stenzel, 58, of 6874
    Ward Road, Town of Wheat-
    Held, died Tuesday (Jan. 11,
    1966 at DeGraff Memorial
    Hospital. Mr. Stenzel suffered
    an apparent heart attack
    at his home earlier In
    the evening and waa taken to
    the hospital.
    He was a life long resident
    of St. Johnsburg and a member
    of St. John's Lutheran
    Church and the Luther Lay
    league of the church. He was
    employed as a machinist at
    the Carborundum Co.
    He is survived by his wife;
    a son, Kent Stenzel, and a
    doughter, Miss Kathleen Sten.

Erna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild; she had also served as a Sunday School teacher. She loved animals and had work for the McBride Small Animal Hospital. She was the wife of the late Carl Stenzel who died in 1966. Beloved mother of Kathleen (late James) Carere of North Tonawanda and Kent (Barbara) Stenzel of Hamilton, MT. Grandmother of Roger (Martha) Stenzel of Renton, WA, James (Kristi) Stenzel of Hayden, ID; Kara (Billy) Tabor of Corvallis, MT, Jamie (Erik) Sumi and Joe Carere, both of North Tonawanda; great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren; sister of the late Wallace and Gustav Pfohl. Dear aunt of Carol (Gilbert) Walck of Sanborn. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM from St. John Lutheran Church, the Rev. Ronald Oravec will officiate, interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.     St. Johnsburg, Dies
    NORTH TONAWANDA, Nov. 6—
    Charles A. Stenzel. 76. a lifelong
    resident of St. Johnsburz and and
    emplovc of the Buffalo Bolt company
    for the past 40 years, died sud-
    denly yesterday from a heart attack
    while at his place of employment.
    He retired as an employee of the
    company just before the war broke
    out but was called back as a guard
    at the Oliver street plant when the
    United States broke with Japan and
    Germany.
    Mr. Stenzel was a member of the
    St. John's Lutheran church. For
    more than 20 years he had served
    the church as an elder. He was also
    a member of the St. Johnsburg fire
    company.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary
    Perslien Stenzel; three sons, Wil-
    bert Stenzel of tonawanda, and
    Carl and Reuben Stenzel, of the
    Town of Wheatfield four daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Eleanora Mellenthine, Mrs.
    Erwin Stoelting and Mrs. Arthur
    Stoelting of the Town of Wheat-
    field and Mrs. Dorothea Ellman
    of the town of Tonawanda; 17
    grandchildren and a brother, Her-
    man Stenzel, of Lockport.
    Funeral services will be held Fri-
    day afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
    residence and at 2:30 at St. John's
    church. Rev. Walter Themecke will
    officiate and burial will be in St.
    John's cemetery.
