    Obituary of Kenneth Halliday

    Kenneth R. Halliday, age 94 of Lewiston, died Thursday September 13, 2018 in the Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls, after a brief illness.
    Kenneth was born July 28, 1924 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Wilfred J. and Anna (Schwenkbeck) Halliday and was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School. On April 9, 1948 he married Dorothy M. (Wilson) and they have resided in Lewiston since then. Kenneth was employed by Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls, NY for 41 years, retiring as the Supervisor of the Machine Shop in 1985.
    He was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of The Messiah in Lewiston and a member of the Shredded Wheat Breakfast Club and Bowling League. An avid and talented woodworker, Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in "Grampie's Workshop"
    In addition to his wife of 70 years, Dorothy, he is survived by a son, Gary (Debbi) Halliday; two daughters, Sharon (William) Ruth and Debbie (Paul) Skalla; six grandchildren, Allyson R. and Kristen Halliday, Lauren (Suren) Gobin, Donny Halliday, Deidre and Jeremy Skalla; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Rick J. (late Nancy) Halliday and a brother, Wilfred (Doris) Halliday.
    Funeral Services and Entombment will be held Monday, September 17, at 12:00 noon in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, 500 Riverdale Ave. Lewiston, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Stewart officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Ambulance Fund, 145 N. 6th St. P.O. Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.

Born on July 26th, 1927, in Niagara Falls to the late James and Margaret (Nee Downs) Wilson. Dorothy was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.She was lastly employed at the McCrorey’s and Neisner’s Dept. Store in Lewiston serving as the assistant manager. She sold Avon in her early years and enjoyed bingo, lottery tickets and going to the casino, and she never told anyone how much she ever won.Surviving is her children; Debra (Paul) Skalla, Gary (Debbi) Halliday, Sharon (Late William) Ruth; her grandchildren; Alyson Ruth, Kristen (Sarah) Halliday, Lauren (Suren) Gobin, Donny Halliday, Deidre (Mike) Rynerson and Jermey Skalla, also 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her Husband Kenneth who passed on September 13, 2018; her son, Rick (Late Nancy) Halliday and her siblings June Morrison, Betty Lindsay and Sally Vidrine.Visitation hours will be held on WED. from 4-6 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. Lewiston, NY 14092.
