    Shearer, oil of this city, ond her
    father Mr. August Winter of Ronsomvllle.
    Also surviving are two sisters,
    Mrs. Margaret House of Cambria and
    ° Mrs. Edwin (Lily) Hamann of Sonborn,
    two brothers, Herbert Winter of
    Combrio ond Walter Winter of Lockport,
    thrw grandchildren, one greotgrondson
    and several nieces and
    nephews. Friends moy call Sunday
    from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Peter
    A. Wilson Funeral Chopel, 8904 South
    Military Rd. where funeral services
    will bo held Monday at 2 p.m. with
    Pastor Waller G. Schultz officiating.
    Interment Wheatfield Cemetery. In
    lieu of flowers contributions may be
    made to The American Concer Society
    or the Memorial Fund of Grace Lutheron
    Church.

    601 88th St. died Friday (Aug.
    14. 1970) in Roswell Memorial
    Park Institute, Buffalo, after a
    long illness.
    Born in 'his city, she attended
    local schools.
    Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Shearer
    owned and operated the Shearer
    Grocery Store on Cayuga Drive
    for about 50 years.
    She was a lifetime member of
    the Grace Lutheran Church.
    Other survivors include a son,
    Samuel Shearer, and a daughter,
    Mrs. Roland (Helen) Stell,
    both of Niagara Falls; her
    father, August Winter of Ransom
    ville; two brothers, Hurbert
    Winter of Cambria and Walter
    Winter of Lockport; two sisters,
    Mrs. Margaret House of
    Cambria and Mrs. Edwin (Lily)
    Hamann of Sanborn; three
    grandchildren, a great-grandson
    and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Peter L. Wilson Funeral
    Chapel Monday at 2 p.m. with
    the Rev. Walter G. Schultz officiating.
    Burial will be in Wheat-
    field Cemetery.
    Friends may call Sunday from
    2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m.

    for long-time member August E.
    Winter who celebrates his 100th
    birthday Monday.
    Mr. Winter, who has been
    totally .blind and deaf for the
    last three years, has been a
    patient in the Ransomville Nurs-
    ing Home since 1963.
    His daughter, Mrs. eugene
    Schearer, 601 88th St., said no
    special celebrations are planned
    because of her father's delicate
    health but he is still able to
    recognize his children when they
    visit him.
    Mr. Winter was born June 3,
    1968 in Germany and came to
    Niagara Falls with his parents
    when he was two years old. He
    has lived in Niagara County
    since that time.
    He married Helena Flach in
    1891 and the couple had 10
    children, five boys and five
    girls, all born on a farm north-
    east of Niagara Falls.
    Still surviving besides Mrs.
    Shearer are Mrs. M a r g a r et
    House of North Tonawanda,
    Mrs. Lily Hamann of Sanborn,
    Walter Winter of Lockport and
    Herbert Winter of Sanborn.
    Mrs. Winter died in 1940. His
    three brothers and two sisters
    are also deceased.
    Mr. Winter, a m em b e r of,
    Grace Lutheran C h u r c h for,
    many years, also had nine
    grandchildren and 15 great-
    grandchildren. One grandson
    died while serving his country.
    Before Mr. Winter moved to
    the nursing home he resided
    with his son, Herbert.

    La Salle. Nov. 29.-Ernest Winter, a
    former well known resident of LaSalle,
    passed away last Friday morning, at the
    home of his son August Winter. In
    Cambria, the result of gradually failing health, he being in his 88th year. Mr. Winter was born in Germany, but had
    resided in this country since young
    manhood; and the larger part of his life
    here was spent in La Salle, Bergholtz
    and Niagara Falls He Is survived by
    three sons: August of Cambria. Frank
    of this village, and William of Niagara
    Falls; also, one brother and one sister
    residing In Niagara Falls and Bergholtz.
    The funeral service was conducted
    Sunday afternoon, at the Berg-
    holtz Lutheran church, by the Rev
    Stark, and Interment was In Bergholtz
    cemetery.

    Ernest Winter, 87 years old, died last night at the home of his son. August Winter, Of the town line road in tne town of Pendleton, after a long illness. Up to 12 years ago, Winter operated his farm, which was located in the vicinity of Bergholtz. Winter was born in Germany and came to America 52 years ago, locating at Bergholtz. Surviving are three sons, August Winter of Pendleton. Frank Winter of La Salle and William Winter of Niagara Falls; one brother, Christian Winter of Niagara Falls; one sister, Mrs. Wilhelmina Urtel of Bergholtz; 19 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the late residence and an hour later from Holy Ghost Lutheran church at Bergholtz, Rev. Alvin Starck officiating. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Church cemetery.
