    A pretty spring wedding was
    solemnized on Saturday afternoon
    at four o'clock in the First Evangelical
    church, when Miss Virginia
    Trautman, daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Eugene Trautman of 264
    Adam street, was united in marriage
    to LaVern. Schmeichel, son
    of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schmeichel

    of 141 Stenzel street, the Rev.
    Lester Driftmyer, officiating.
    The church was decorated with
    palms and large candelabra were
    placed on either side of the pulpit.
    A bouquet of pink roses flanked
    with white candles adorned the
    altar. The pews were marked with
    pink and white bows. The wedding
    music was played by Mrs. LaVerne
    Selover and Miss Vera Robearge
    sang, Because, preceding the cere-
    mony.
    The bride, who was given in

    marriage by her father, wore a
    white stardust velvaray gown,
    made princess style. Her circular
    finger-tip veil was scalloped at the

    SCHMEICHEL _ Edward G. Schmeichel, 87, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Saturday (Feb. 14, 1976) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthly illness. Mr. Schmeichel was a lifelong resident of North Tonawnada, a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a former employe of Buffalo Pump, retiring 17 years ago. He is survived by two sons, LaVern C. Schmeichel of Tonawanda and Norman E. B. Schmeichel of Niagara Falls, Ontario; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Benjamin and Charles Schmeichel, both of Tonawanda and three sisters, Mrs. Augusta Batt and Mrs. Anna Kolz, both of the Tonawandas and Mrs. William Collins of Buffalo, N.Y The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda this afternoon from 2 to 4 and this evening from 7 to 9. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn will officiate. Interment in Elmlawn Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.

    SCHMEICHEL - Sarah E. Schmeichel, 70, of 141 Stenzil St., North Tonawanda, died Thursday (Jan. 21, 1965) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Edward G. Schmeichel; two sons, LaVerne of Tonawanda, and Norman Schmeichel of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren, and a brother Alfred Woodrich of the Town of Wheatfield. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Road. Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday and in St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Loren J. Shiley will officiate. Interment in Elmlawn Cemetery.

    Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schmeichel

    home tomorrow at a buffet supper
    in celebration of their 50th
    wedding anniversary.
    Mr. and Mrs. Schmeichel were
    married Aug. 27, 1913, at the
    home of the bride, the former
    Sarah Woodrich.
    Both have lived in North Tonawanda
    during their entire married
    life. Mr. Schmeichel retired
    from Buffalo Pumps in December
    1958. His hobby is making
    lawn furniture.
    The Schmeichels have two
    sons, LaVerne and Norman, and
    four grandchildren.
    Besides the immediate family,
    guests expected to be present for
    the festivities are from Medina,
    East Shelby, Buffalo, Niagara
    Falls and the Twin Cities.

He was born in Berlin, Germany. He had llved here nearly a half century He leaves five daughters. Mrs. Edward Batt, Mrs. William Callopy, Mrs. Charles Koelsch of Buffalo, Elisabeth Schmeichel of Bradford. Pa..and five sons, Albert. William. Edward and Charles Schmeichel of Tonawanda and Benjamin Schmeichel, a private now at Pharr, Tex. The funeral will be on Wednesday.

    Mrs. Bertha A. Schmeichel
    Mrs. Bertha A. Schmeichel, 57 yeras old, wife of William Schmeichel of the Nash road, died yesterday afternoon at her home after a lingering illness. She was born in Germany and had lived here 32 years. Besides her husband, five daughters, Mrs. E. Batt, Mrs. W. Callopy, Mrs. Melville Helbron, the Misses Agnes and Elizabeth Schmeichel of North Tonawanda and five sons, Albert, William, Edward, Benjamin and Carl Schmeichel of North Tonawnada survive. The funeral will be held from the family home at 1:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon and a half hour later from the St. Matthew's church on Wheatfield street, Rev. Carl Frankenstein officiating. Burial will be made in St. Matthew's cemetery at Sawyers Creek.

    WIFE SOON FOLLOWS HUSBAND TO GRAVE
    Mrs. Martha Woodrick of 52 Linwood avenue, 42 years old, wife of the late Herman Woodrick, died this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the DeGraff Memorial hospital, after a short illness from pneumonia. The remains were taken to the home of Mrs. Woodrick's daughter. Mrs. John Ewald of Payne avenue. Mrs. Woodrick's husband died ten days ago with pneumonia. Announcement of the funeral will be made later.
