    Notes:

    Anita P. Ward, age 100, of Newfane, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023, at Niagara Hospice. Anita was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 25, 1923, a daughter of the late August L. and Flora (Laur) Schul. Anita was a member of the Living Water Community Church and participated in many activities. She was a 1942 graduate of LaSalle High School and had worked for 10 years until 1979 at Hillers Fruit and Vegetable stand. Anita attended the Newfane and Barker Senior Citizens. She was married June 29, 1946, to Aubrey Ward who predeceased her in July of 1983.

    Anita was predeceased by son Donald, grandson Derek Ward and 7 siblings. She is survived by her children Daniel (Darlene) Ward of Friendship, NY, David (Rosemary) Ward of Middleport, NY, Diane House of Keystone Heights, FL, and Denise (Anthony) Rodrigues of Tracy, CA: 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends in the community.

    Anita’s life will be celebrated at the Living Water Community Church 2569 Main Street Newfane, NY 14108 on Saturday January 13, at 11:00 followed by a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Living Water Community Church or Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr Lockport, NY 14094.

    Anita’s arrangements have been entrusted to Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home 4521 Main St. Gasport, NY 14067.

    of their two daughters, Miss
    Ruth E. Schul and Miss Anita
    Schul.
    Miss Ruth E. Schul became the
    bride of Mr. Roger Reedy, son of
    Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Reedy, 110 Royal
    avenue, Rockford, Ill., In a ceremony
    performed recently In Rockford,
    while Miss Anita Schul and
    Mr. Aubrey Ward, son of Mrs. Ola
    Ward, of Buffalo avenue, were married
    June 29 in the Church of
    Christ by the Rev. William P. Saye.
    At the Rockford wedding, Miss
    Ruth E. Schul wore a gown of white
    satin, fashioned with a high neckline
    long sleeves and a full skirt
    Which fell in a short train. Her
    fingertip veil fell from a net halo
    and she carried a bouquet of mixed
    white flowers centered with in or-
    chid.
    Her only attendant was Miss Dar-
    lene Obermeyer, Riverside, Calif,
    who wore a pink gown, fashioned
    with a taffeta bodice, and net skirt
    Her Dutch cap was of matching net
    and she carried a bouquet of
    flowers. Mr. Gerald Brophy was the
    best man.
    A reception for members of the
    Immediate families and a
    friends followed the ceremony,
    Mr. Reedy is a veteran of three
    years service, part of which was
    spent in Africa, and received his
    discharge with the rank of technical
    sergeant. The couple met
    whDe the,bride was Uvlng in Cailfornla
    and Mr. Reedy was station-
    ed there after his return from overseas.
    The couple is how residing in
    Rockford, Ill.
    At the Falls wedding, Miss Anita
    Schul, who was given in marriage
    by her father wore a gown fashioned
    with a white satin bodice with
    long sleeves and a full net skirt
    which fell into a train.. Her fingertip
    veil of Illusion fell from a beeded
    crown and she carried a cascade
    bouquet of white roses.
    Mrs. Doris O'Connor, sister of
    the.bride, was matron or honor
    wearing a gown-of pink net over
    taffeta with a matching shoulder
    length veil, held by a tiara of flowers.
    Her bouquet was of pink carnations.

    Mr. William O'Flaherty, this city
    was the best man.
    Mrs. Grace Banks was organist
    for the ceremony and Miss Patricia
    Gerber sang. "I Love You Truly
    and "Because."
    .. The bride's mother wore a green
    print dress with matching accessories,
    while the bridegroom's mother
    wore a blue, dress with matching
    accessories. Both had corsages of
    rose buds with mixed flowers.
    A wedding dinner for the immediate
    families followed at the home
    of the bride, which was decorated
    with garden flowers. A four-tier
    wedding cake centered the brides
    table.
    The couple left on a wedding trip
    to Northern Canada, Mrs. Ward
    traveling in a brown and white
    checked suit with matching accessories
    and a corsage of white rosebuds.
    They will return to reside
    In this city.

    Funeral Set

    On Monday

    Funeral services .will be held

    Monday for August L. Schul, 85,

    of 5913 Ward Road, Sanborn,

    who died Thursday (May 7,

    1970) in Memorial Medical Center.

    Born in Elmwood, Ont., Mr.

    Schul moved, to Niagara County

    with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.

    Charles Schul, in 1897 and had

    resided here'ever since.

    He was a thresher and a .former

    superintendent of.highways

    in the Town of Niagara. He was

    a 1rti«nber of hte First Baptist

    Church in Sanborn.

    He is survived by his widow,

    Lily Schul; there sons, Gordon;

    Raymond and Paul Schul, all of

    Niagara Falls; five daughters,

    Mrs. George (Esther) Shepherd,

    Niagara Falls; Mrs, John

    (Doris) O'Connor, North Tonawanda;

    Mrs. Robert (Miriam)

    Bower, Sanborn; Mrs. Roger

    (Ruth) Reedy, Rockford, 111.,

    and Mrs. Aubrey (Anita) Ward,

    Burt; two brothers, Ernest

    Schul, Town of Niagara, and

    William Schul, Niagara Falls;

    25 grandchildren, 21 greatgrandchildren

    and s e v e r al

    niece sand nephews.

    His wife, Flora Laur Schul,

    died in 1949.

    Funeral services will be held

    Monday at 11 a.m. at the

    Grimes Funeral Home with the

    Rev. James P. Kenyon of First

    Baptist Church, Sanborn, officiating.

    Burial will be in Memorial

    Park Cemetery.

    Contributions may be made to

    the Memorial Fund at First

    Baptist Church.

    Friends may call at the funeral

    home today and Sunday from

    2 to 9 p.m.
