    Notes:

    Allan E. Barnes of Burt, NY, went on to join in wife Esther Dold Barnes in eternal peace on Saturday February 10, 2018 at Niagara Hospice House. Allan was born in Burt, NY on September 14, 1933, the son of the late John and Violet Norris Barnes. Allan served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 - 1956. He worked at Harrison Radiator as a skilled tradesman for 35 years. Allan was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Lockport Eagles, and the American Legion in Wilson, NY. He enjoyed flying his plane, reading, dancing with his wife and fruit farming. Father of Allan (Laurie) Barnes, Scott (Kate) Barnes, Pamela (Joseph) Adinolfe and Laurie (Sue Brzykcy) Barnes. Grandfather of Michael, Jason, Cortney, Spencer, Connor, Jillian, Justin, Emily, Jeremy, Gary, Stephanie and Jason. Brother of Shirley (late Robert) Fox and the late Jack (Betty) Barnes and Janice (Bill) Bartlett. Also survived by 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in Orangeport Cemetery at a later date. Donations to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094 in Allan's name would be appreciated by the family.

    her home. Phillips Rd , for a
    variety shower in honor of Miss
    Esther Dold. lde Rd.. Wilson,
    who will become the bride of
    Allan Barnes, son of Mr. and Mrs-.
    Edward Barnes, Phillips Rd.. Burt,
    on Saturday.
    A series of games with prize
    awards were featured, after which
    the honor guest was presented a
    large basket decorated in yellow
    and aqua filled with gifts.
    Refreshments were served from
    two tables decorated with vases of
    garden flowers with a miniature
    bride and groom as a center-piece.
    Guests were present from John-
    son Creek, Middleport, Lockport,
    Wilson, Newfane and Burt.

    A double-ring ceremony united

    Miss Esther May Dold, daughter
    of Mr, and Mrs. Frank Dold. Wilson,
    and Allan F. Barnes, son of
    Mr. and Mrs. John K. Barnes,
    Burt. Saturday, at 2 o'clock, in St.
    John's Lutheran Church, East
    Burt. The rites were performed
    by the Rev. William H. DaUman.
    The bride was given in marriage
    by her father before the altar
    enhanced by baskets of white
    gladioli.
    WEARS LACE CAP
    A lace cap with fingertip veil
    complemented the bride's gown
    of lace over net and taffeta. The
    fitted bodice was fashioned with
    a scoop neckline accented with
    pearls, and long sleeves. The bouf-
    fant skirt was ballerina-length.
    She carried a bouquet of red roses
    with ivy.
    Mrs. Cecil D. Miller. Olcott, was

    the bride's only attendant She
    wore a blue net dress over taffeta
    with matching crown headpiece,
    and carried a bouquet of pink
    roses with ivy.
    John r. Barnes, Jr., Lockport,
    brother was best man. Victor E.
    Dold, Wilsob, brother of the bride,
    and Robert V. Fox, Burt, brother-
    in-law of the bridegroom, per-
    formed the ushering duties.
    James Whitely, soloist, was ac-
    companied by Mrs. James White-
    ly.
    A blue and gold princess style
    dress with matching jacket was
    chosen by Mrs. Dold for her
    daughter's wedding. The bride-
    groom's mother wore an Air Force
    blue dress with matching hat and
    black accessories. Both mothers
    wore corsages of pink roses.
    RECEPTION IN NEWFANE
    A reception was held from 4 to
    10 o'clock in the American Legion
    Hall, Newfane. A six-tiered wed-
    ding cake and bouquets of glad-
    oli attractively decorated the
    bride's table.
    For traveling the bride was
    wearing an aqua dress with black
    accessories as she left for their
    wedding trip to the Thousand Is-
    lands and Canada. The couple will
    make their future home at Phil-
    lips Rd., Burt.
    Out-of-town guests were from
    Lockport, Barker, Middleport, Ol-
    cott, Jersey City, Gowanda, Brant,
    Irving and South Dayton.
    The bride was graduated from
    Lockport Senior High School. The
    bridegroom was graduated from
    Newfane High School, and served
    four years in the U. S. Air Force.
    Pre-nuptial events included var-
    iety showers given by mrs. Rob-
    ert Fox, Burt, Mrs. John R.
    Barnes, Lockport, and Mrs. Wil-
    liam Bartlett, Wilson in the home
    of Mrs. Fox; Mrs. Samuel Saraf
    and Miss Virginia Gilbert, both of
    Lockport, in the home of the lat-
    ter; a personal shower by Mrs.
    Violet Schalck, Newfane and a re-
    hearsal dinner given by Mrs. J. E.
    Barnes, Burt.

    of Phillips Rd., E . Burt, son of

    the late John and Mary Wisterman
    Barnes, passed away suddenly
    Friday evening (Dec. 11,
    1959) at the Inter-Community
    Memorial Hospital at Newfane.
    He leaves in passing this life
    his wife, Violet Norris Barnes;
    two daughters, Mrs. William
    Bartlett Jr. of E. Wilson, Mrs.
    Robert Fox of E. Burt; two
    sons, John Richard Barnes of
    Chestnut Ridge, Lockport. Allan
    Edward Barnes of E. Burt; 13
    grandchildren; one sister, Mrs.
    L. L. Monroe of Orlando, Fla.,
    and several nieces and nephews.
    Also, several cousins, among
    them Miss Maude Wisterman of
    Tonawanda. Friends may call at
    the Glenn H. Corwin Funeral
    Home, Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane,
    between the hours of 3-5
    and 7-9 where funeral services
    will be held Monday, Dec. 14, at
    2:30 p.m. Interment in Corwin
    Cemetery.

    Sun & Journal's East Burt correspondent,
    Mrs. Violet Barnes,
    died Friday evening (Dec. 11,
    1959) in the Inter-Community
    Memorial Hospital here.
    Mr. Barnes was admitted to
    the hospital Friday morning after,
    he suffered a stroke in
    his home on the Phillips Rd.
    A farmer, Mr. Barnes was a
    lifelong resident of the Town of
    Newfane. He was born Feb. 5,
    1898, the son of John and Mary
    Wisterman Barnes. He resided in
    his present home for the past
    50 years. '
    Besides his wife, the former
    Violet Norris, he is survived
    by two daughters, Mrs. William
    Bartlett of East Wilson and Mrs.
    Robert Fox of East Burt; two
    sons, John R. Barnes of Lockport
    and Allan Barnes of East
    Burt; a sister, Mrs. L. L. Monroe
    of Orlando Fla., and 13 grandchildren.
    The Rev. William H. Dallmann
    of St. John's Lutheran Church,
    Slayton Settlement Rd., will officiate
    at services at 2:30 Monday
    afternoon in the Glenn H.
    Corwin Funeral Home Inc., N.
    Main St.. Newfane. Burial will
    be in Corwin Cemetery.

    BURT - Mrs. Violet Barnes,
    65, of 6435 Phillips Road, former
    Union - Sun and Journal corre-
    spondent, died early today (March
    7, 1963) at Inter - Community Me-
    morial Hospital, Newfane
    She had been a patient the
    past four weeks but had been ill
    since December. She was a pa-
    tient at Buffalo General Hospital.
    Mrs. Barnes was born July 20,
    1897, on Charlotteville Roaad, New-
    fane, daughter of Richard and
    Julia Nye Norris. She lived in
    the town of Newfane with the ex-
    ception of a few years in Mich-
    igan.
    She married John Edward
    Barnes, Nov. 28, 1919. He died
    Dec. 14, 1959.
    Mrs. Barnes was a member of
    the Hess Road Wesleyan Meth-
    odist Church and the Ladies Aid
    of St. John's Lutheran church,
    and a correspondent for the
    Union Sun & Journal.
    She was employed at the Har-
    rison Radiator Division, General
    Motors Corp., for 10 years in De-
    partment 469.
    She is survived by two sons
    and two daughters: John R.
    Barnes, Lockport, Mrs. Robert
    Fox and Allen Barnes, Burt; and
    Mrs. William Bartlett, East Wil-
    son; 14 grandchildren. Also two
    sisters, Mrs. Carrie Stratton, Falls
    Church, Va. and Mrs. Allan Park-
    er, Flint, Mich.
    Funeral services will be held
    Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Rut-
    land - Corwin Funeral Home,
    Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane. In
    terment in Corwin Cemetery
    when weather permits.

    BURT. Feb. 5-Mrs. Julia Norris.
    widow of Richard Norris, died to-
    day at the home of her daughter,
    Mrs. Edward Barnes, of the Fuller
    road, following a serious illness of
    only a few days. Mrs. Norris was
    born in the Hess road 86 years ago.
    a daughter of the late Betsy and
    Dwlght Nye and had spent her en-
    tire life in this community.
    She is survived by four daughters.
    Mrs. Elmer Stratton and Mrs.
    Barnes. both of Burt. Mrs. Allen
    Parker and Miss Florence Norris.
    both of Pltnt. Mich., who were all
    at her bedsldr. A son. Charles, died
    in infancy' There are nine grandchildren

    and four great grandchil-
    dren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the home of Mr. and Mrs. Barnes
    Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The
    Rev Homer Carr. pastor of the
    Newfane First Baptist church, of
    which Mrs Norris was a member,
    win officiate. Interment will be in
    the family plot at Corwin cemetery
