    LOCKPORT — Robert F. Hefferon, age 82, of North Tonawanda, June 22, 2011, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport. Robert served in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army and was a member of the National American Legion. He retired as a Superintendent from National Grinding Wheel in 1988. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Renaissance Club and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

    He is survived by his wife, Carole (nee McDougall) Hefferon; two children, Cheryl (Thomas) Reed and Robert T. (Kathy) Hefferon, both of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren, Colleen (Dan) Brick, Thomas R. Reed, Robert J. Hefferon and Joseph Hefferon; two step-grandchildren, Kory and Klint Gailie; two great-grandchildren, Rielly and Quinn and one step-great-grandchild, Kody. Brother of Rosemary Siegmann, Betty Verral, Dorothy Gety, Richard, Jack, Shirley, Helen, Patricia and David Hefferon, and the late Russell and George Hefferon and Marge Morgan; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 AM. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.

    Obituary

    Carole F. Hefferon, age 89, unexpectedly passed under hospice care on December 25th. Carole was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Buffalo Sabers and the Buffalo Bills play. She especially enjoyed watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids playing sports. She also loved bowling. Carole finally retired at age 88 from Tops, where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician.

    Carole was predeceased by her husband Robert Hefferon. She is survived by her two children Cheryl (Tom) Reed, and Robert (Kathy) Hefferon. Loving grandmother to Colleen (Dan) Brick, Thomas Reed, Robert (Rebecca) Hefferon, Joseph Hefferon, and Klint Galie. She will be missed by her great grandkids Rielly and Quinn Brick, and Robert and Rainy Hefferon.

    Friends and family are invited to express their sympathies at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, on Wednesday December 30th from 4pm-7pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday December 31st at 10am. Entombment at Acacia Park Cemetery.
