Esther L. Snell ( nee Wittkop) age 86 of the Town of Wheatfield Saturday April 13, 2019 after a brief illness. Esther left this life to join her beloved husband, the late Carlo Snell. Born in North Tonawanda on April 5, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Minne (Donner) Wittkop and sister of the late Ruth Pohl. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, she volunteered at the church’s Bazaar and other activities. Other interests included travel to several states, reading and an avid football fan. 
Beloved mother of Michael Snell and Edward (Lynne) Snell. Sister-in-law of Wilma Snell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 
No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

wedding took place at the North Ridge
Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon
June 29th at 3:00 o'clock when
Miss Minnie L. Donner. daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Donner of this
place was united In the Holy bonds of
matrimony to Edward A. Wittkop of
North Tonawanda, the Rev. John. P.
Barkow officiating. Tho bridal party
entered the church to the strains of
tho Lohengrin wedding . march played
by Mrs. Fred Sievert of Ransomvllle.
The bride was charming In a gown of
white crepe back satin with veil caught
with lilies of the valley and carried
white roses. She was attended by Miss
Marlon Schulte of Cambria as maid of
honor and Miss Ruth Crewe of Niagara
Falls. Miss Emma Wittkop of Sanborn
and Miss Florence Lemkle of Johnsburg
as bridesmaids. Richard Beutel of
Wilson was best man and Herbert Eggert
of Sanborn, Elmer Donner of Wil-'
son and Clarence Stoeltlng of Martinsville
acted as ushers. A reception was
hold at the home of bride's parents
Immediately following the ceremony.
Covers were laid for 225 at the elaborate
dinner served. 24 being seated at the
bride's table. They happy couple will
reside at 1048 Niagara Falls Boulevard.

OBSERVE ANNIVERSARY-Mr. and Mrs. George Wittkop, 1792
Ruie road, North Tonawanda, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary
last night by entertaining confirmed members of St. Martin's
Lutheran church at a turkey dinner served at the church. Shown in
the picture, from left to right, are Mr. Wittkop, the Rev. Theodore
Berner, pastor, and Mrs, Wittkop. Mr. and Mrs. Wittkop were
married, in Pekin, February 6, 1902. Mrs. Wittkop, the former
Emma Werth, is 71. Her husband is 73. They have one son, Edward,
and two grandchildren. The Sunshine Guild, served 140 guests at the
dinner party. Music and singing, featuring many of the old German
songs, were program highlights. A freewill collection was taken for the
benefit of the Lutheran hour.

Henry married SCHULTZ, Louise Maria Fredericke on 8 Dec 1892. LOCKPORT. June 20-A lifelong
resident of Niagara county, Mrs.
Augusta Wittkop, 92, widow of Henry
Wittkop, died yesterday after a long
illness at the home of, her daughter,
Mrs. William Eggert, Upper Mountain
road, Town of Cambria.
She was born July 27, 1858 in the
Town of Wheatfield but had lived
many years in Cambria where her
husband, a farmer, died several years
Besides Mrs. Eggert she is survived
by another daughter, Mrs. Herman
Stoelting. Cambria; two sons.
George of North Tonawanda, and
Benjamin of Cambria.
Services will be held Friday at
1:30 at the Gaul Funeral home, 263
East avenue and at 2:30 at St. Pauls
'Lutheran church, North Tonawanda.
Burial will be in St. Andrew's cemetery,

Mrs. Bertha Werth, 74 years old, wife of the late William Werth, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Witkopf, on the Upper Mountain road, town of Cambria. She was born in Germany. For the past 62 years she had resided in St. Johnsburg and vicinity. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. George Witkopf, Mrs. Edward Witkopf and Mrs. August Witkopf, Cambria, Mrs. William Hagen, St. Johnsburg, and Mrs. Edward Lemke, North Tonawanda; one son, Alfred Werth, North Tonawanda; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild and three sisters, Mrs. Alma Schroeder, and Mrs. Amelia Bendt, Wilson, and Mrs. August Mahl, St. Johnsburg. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the late residence and an hour later, standard time, at the St. John's church, St. Johnsburg. Rev. Walter Thiemke will conduct the services and interment will be in the St. John's cemetery.
