CITAK - Alice V. Age 84, died peacefully at her home in Roswell, GA on Monday, April 18, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Citak Furrh (Leigh Hagan Furrh); stepgrandsons, Cole and Shepherd Furrh of Atlanta, GA; brother, Frank Kopczynski, Jr. (Judy Kopczynski) of Lake Worth, FL; brother-in-law, John F. Citak, Jr. (Dorothy Citak) of Tonawanda, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Francis Kopczynski (Veronica Kopczynski); her loving husband of 48 years, Daniel; and her son, Martin Joseph Citak. Alice was born in Buffalo, NY, on November 3, 1926. She married Daniel on November 9, 1957, then moved to Lackawanna, NY. She and her family moved to Titusville, FL in 1968, and lived there until 2003, when she and Dan moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL. After Dan died in 2006, she relocated to Roswell, GA to a beautiful continuous-care community called St. George Village, so that she could be closer to her daughter. In her single years in Buffalo, Alice sang soprano for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Alice delighted in her role as wife, mother, and homemaker, and was wonderful at all three. She was a member of many clubs including the Welcome Wagon (president), Homemakers (president), TOPS (treasurer), and the Polish Space Coast Lodge 3230. Dan and Alice were founding members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mims, FL, where she was active in the Women's Club. Alice also served as a Pink Lady at Jess Parrish Memorial Hospital in Titusville, FL for many years. Her passion and talent for cooking won her many awards, and she was published several times in the local newspapers, as well as the Southern Living magazine in 1981. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was simply the most genuinely kind and cheerful person, and had a great sense of humor. She could always make you smile. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday, April 25th, at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, FL. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM, Tuesday, April 26th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Please sign Alice's online guestbook at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com
