John C. Golem, 65, 153 Stenzel St., died suddenly after a heart attack yesterday morning. He was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. Surviving are his wife Emma, nee Ellman, a daughter, Mrs. M. H. Canfield, Westfield; 3 sons, Carl and Howard of San Diego, Calif.; Alden of North Tonawanda; 8 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Fred and Frank of North Tonawanda; Edward and Henry of San Diego; 3 sisters, Mrs. Emma Cole, Mrs. Florence Wiedman and Mrs. Augusta Mitchell, all of San Diego. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the home. The Rev. G. L. Burghard will officiate. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery.

GOLEM - Emma M. Golem, (nee Ellman), 74, formerly of North Tonawanda, died Wednesday (June 24, 1964) in Northtown Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the wife of John Golem, who died in 1949. Surviving are three sons, Carl G. of Patton, Calif., Howard G. of San Diego, Calif., and Alden of Westfield, N.Y., and a daughter, Mrs. Grace Canfield of Westfield. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Thorman and Mrs. Christ Janowsky, both of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Norman Arndt of East Aurora. Friends may call at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Services will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the funeral home. The Rev. Carl K. Marks will officiate. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery.

Fred Golem, 61 years old, of No. of Niagara street, died suddenly at his home last night after a two-days' illness with stomach trouble. The deceased was born in Germany and came here 25 years ago. Besides his widow, five sons, Frederick, Edward, John, Frank and Henry Golem of North Tonawahda; four daughters, Mrs William Mitchell of Yonkers, Mrs. Michael Wiedman of Buffalo, Mrs. Ernest Cole and Miss Carrie Golem of North Tonawanda; two brothers, Jacob and William Golem of the Tonawandas, and 13 grandchildren survive.'

Gustave O. Ellman, 79, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Fred Thorman, 223 East Felton street. He was born in Germany and had lived
in North Tonawanda 72 years. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fred
Thorman, Mrs. John Golem and Mrs. Christian Janowsky of North Tonawanda and
Mrs. Norman Arndt of Holland, N.Y. and by a son, Carl G., of Buffalo, 17
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Grainge of
Florida. He was a member of Friedens church and the Order of Maccabees.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. from his daughter's residence with the
Rev. Theophil Twente officicating. Burial will be in the Friedens cemetery.

MRS. MARY ELLMAN
Mrs. Mary Ellman, 65 years old, died yesterday afternoon at her home on the Ruie road, following a lingering illness. She had been a resident of North Tonawanda and vicinity for many years. She was a member of Friedens church and of the Lady Moccabees. Surviving are a husband, Gustave O.; a son, Carl, Buffalo; four daughters, Mrs. Fred Thorman, Mrs. John C. Golem, and Mrs. Christ Janowsky, North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Norman W. Arndt, East Aurora; a mother, Mrs. Bertha Gawe (sic); two sisters, Mrs. Herman Kirchoff and Mrs. Emma Zuck, Buffalo; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, Rev. Theophil Manzel officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
