TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Paul H. Nantke, age 85, of the Town of Wheatfield, May 3, 2011, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home, Lewiston, after a brief illness. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran. Early in his life he had worked as a professional photographer, he also worked for National Grinding Wheel and worked as a machinist for many years for Wales Strippit in Akron until his retirement. He was a member of the Niagara County Radio Controlled Model flying club and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Paul was an experienced traveler and enjoyed his trips to the Holy Land.
He was the husband of the late Margaret E. (nee Hall) Nantke; beloved father of Lisa (Chris) Mrzygut of Lewiston; grandfather of Amanda Beth and Ariel Marie Mrzygut; he was the brother of the late Glenn and Albert Nantke; uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 2-4 and 5:30-7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. The Rev. Gregory Schultz will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
