    Miss Nida Helen Smith, daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Smith
    of Grand Island, was united in
    marriage to Ensign Rolland Ross
    Miller at the Payne Avenue
    Church of Christ on July 22.
    The double ring ceremony was
    performed by the Rev Craig W.
    Schwartz before an altar decorated
    in white gladioli and illuminated
    by white candelabra. Miss
    Lois Nagle sang "I Love You Truly,"
    accompanied by Mrs. L.
    Gursling. who also played the
    wedding marches.
    The bride, who was escorted to
    the altar by her father, was beautifully
    dressed in white marquisette
    over satin, fashioned with
    a long train. The bodice of lace
    with long sleeves was buttoned
    in the back with tiny buttons.
    Her fingertip veil of illusion
    was fastened to a halo headdress,
    trimmed with orange blossoms.
    She carried a cascade bouquet of
    white gladioli centered with three
    orchids, tied with white ribbon.
    The maid of honor. Miss Jean
    Smith, sister of the bride was
    dressed in green net, with full
    skirt and puffed sleeves. She
    carried a cascade boquet of pink
    gladioli and rapture roses, tied
    in green satin and wore a matching
    spray of roses in her hair.
    Miss Shirley Hicks and Mrs.
    Shirley Kreger of Grand Island,
    bridesmaids, wore matching gowns
    in yellow and their bouquets were
    flesh gladioli and sweet heart
    roses tied with yellow satin and
    they had matching sprays in their
    hair.
    Attending the groom as best
    man. was Richard D. Miller, his
    brother. The ushers were Flight
    Commander Arnold Wackerman
    and Merle Miller, also a brother
    of the groom.
    Mrs. Smith, mother of the bride
    was dressed in orchid with white
    accessories and her corsage was
    of garderias.
    Mrs. Mil'er, the groom's mother,
    wore a summer print of silk jersey
    with white accessories and
    also a corsage of gardenias.
    Following the ceremony dinner
    was served at the church to fifty
    guests. The bride's table was
    decorated with bouquets of gypsophela
    and bachelor buttons,
    and centered with a three tiered
    wedding cake adorned with a
    miniature bride and navy officer.
    Following a reception at the
    bride's home on Grand Island,
    the couple left for a short wedding
    trip. The bride's traveling
    suit was of blue and matching
    accessories and a corsage of orchids.
    After a fifteen days leave Ensign
    Miller w'll return to Florida
    where he will be stationed at
    Banana river.

    SMITH - Sidney F. Smith,
    89, formerly of Grand Island,
    N.Y., Thursday (Feb. 13, 1975)
    at Sheridan Manor Nursing
    Home. Born in Tonawanda,
    N.Y., he was a retired railway
    mail clerk. He was a member
    of Payne Avenue Christian
    Church where he was Elder
    Emeritus, a member of the
    Buffalo Chapter of the National
    Association of Retired Federal
    Employees and an honorary
    life member of the Grand
    Island Taxpayer's Association.
    He was the husband of the
    late Inez Woodruff Smith, who
    died n 1967 and father of the
    late Nelson Smith and Mrs.
    Gilbert (Jean) Tybring, he is
    survived by two daughters,
    Mrs. Melvin (Muriel)
    Gallisdorfer of North
    Tonawanda and Mrs. Roland
    (Nida) Miller of Grand Island;
    thirteen grandchildren and ten
    great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call
    SATURDAY from 2 to 4 and 7
    to 9 p.m., at the Wattengel
    Funeral Home, Inc., 307 Oliver
    St., North Tonawanda where a
    memorial service will be held
    Sunday at 3 p.m. at Payne
    Avenue Christian Church, the
    Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
    Burial at the convenience of the
    family at Forest Lawn
    Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
    memorials may be made to the
    Payne Avenue Christian
    Church.

    She was born here and had

    for the last 29 years. She was
    a member of Payne Avenue
    Christian Church. °
    Survivors include her husband,
    Sidney F. Smith; three
    daughters. Mrs. Melvin Gallisdorfer,
    this city. Mrs. Rolland
    Miller, Grand Island, and Mrs.
    Gilbert Tybring, Madison,

    great-grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at
    2 p.m. Sunday in the Wattengel

    NORTH TONAWANDA. Dec. 27 -
    Stillman C. Woodruff, one of North
    Tonawanda's best known citizens,
    died at his home, 198 Christiana street
    Saturday. Born In Wanpun, Wis., he
    came to North Tonawanda when a
    small boy and had resided here since.
    He was t he first superintendent of
    water works In the city, serving for
    many years in t h a t capacity.
    Surviving are ft widow, Marv K :
    a daughter, Mrs. Sidney F. Smith of
    Kenmore. and three sons. Arley H ,
    George T. and Harold F. Woodruff
    all of North Tonawanda. The funeral
    will be held Tuesday afternoon
    at 4 o'clock at the residence. The
    Rev. Walter Mnnsell of the Payne
    Avenue Church of Christ will conduct
    the service and burial will be
    In the Sweeney cemetery. Sutherland
    Lodge will be in charge.
