Obituary of Mason C. Shafer
Middleport: Mason C. Shafer, 60, passed away August 10, 2020. He was born in Medina a son of Wilbur and the late Alice (Lembke) Shafer. Mason was a graduate of Roy-Hart High School and was co-owner of Shafer’s Farm in Middleport. He was predeceased by his mother Alice Shafer. Mason is survived by his children, Jamie Codjovi, Stacie (Charles) Jowdy and John (Jocelyn) Shafer; grandchildren, Jelani and Brielle Codjovi, Caleb and Alice Jowdy and Carter Shafer; father, Wilbur (Carol) Shafer; siblings, Eric (Christine) Shafer and Jody (Robert) Peters; several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport, NY on Saturday August 15, from 4:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc.

Wilbur Carl Shafer, age 87, died July 27, 2021 in United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. 
He was born January 19, 1934 in Niagara Falls to John Carl and Florene (Hatt) Shafer and had lived in this area since 1958.  Wilbur was a member of the Calico Sam, the Fingerlakers, and Empire Happy Wanderers Camping groups.  He was also a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church and was an honorary Exempt Member of the Middleport Fire Company.  Mr. Shafer was predeceased by his parents, his first wife: Alice (Lembke) Shafer, his son: Mason Shafer, and his sister: Jane Mosher. 
He is survived by his wife: Carol (Urtel) Shafer whom he married December 27, 2002, his son: Eric (Tina) Shafer, his daughter: Jody (Robert Jr.,) Peters, his brother: Robert (H. Anita) Shafer Sr., his stepchildren: Douglas (Desiree`) Tryloff of OH, Deborah (Rudolf) Brunath of FL, Donna (Mark) Vandenbosch of FL, Daniel Tryloff of Gasport, grandchildren: Jamie Codjovi, Stacie (Charles) Jowdy, John (Jocelyn) Shafer, Lydia (Matthew) Friend, Maria (Adam) Ohol, Zachary (Shatel) Peters, Brooke Peters, step-grandchildren: Alida Keith, Jared (Tricia) Tryloff, Nathan Huntington, Hanna and Hunter Tryloff.  11 great grandchildren: Jelani, Brielle, Caleb, Alice, Carter, Louisa, Brody, April, Lillian, Dakoda, and Lillyjean as well as several nieces and nephews. 
The family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street-Gasport, TUESDAY from 4-8 pm where his Funeral Service will be held WEDNESDAY at 10:30 followed by interment in Hartland Cemetery. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Middleport United Methodist Church, the Middleport Fire Department or a charity of your choice.

Marilyn Ruth Williams Smith, 79, of Maedl Lane, Middleport, entered into rest Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her residence. Marilyn devoted her life to her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Marilyn was born in Sweden Center, NY on January 10, 1930, daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Winchester) Williams. She was a homemaker who had lived in Middleport for 20 years and was a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church.Mother of Robert (Veda) VerCruysse of Waterport, Louis (Judy) VerCryusse of Medina, Sheila (Victor) Haynes of Arkansas, Ruth Leno of Rochester and Florence (Mason) Shafer of Gasport. She is also survived by several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and a special friend, the late Lloyd Brown of Middleport. Sister of Kenneth (Betty) Williams of Waterport, Roy (Sylvia) Williams of Barker, Sharon (Chuck) Bacon of Medina, David (Marie) Williams of Florida, Richard Williams of New York City and the late Donald Williams, Florence Ver Cryusse and Harold Williams. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Dora Williams and Doreen VerCryusse and the late Carol Williams; brother-in-law, the late Alfonse VerCryusse. There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Middleport United Methodist Church on Park Avenue in Middleport. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Marilyn Smith to Niagara Hospice or Middleport United Methodist Church would be appreciated by the family.
