    NORTH RIDGE, April 11.-Funeral
    services for Mrs. Frederlcka World
    Thielke, wife of Herman Thielke. were
    held from the home of her son. Louis
    C. Thielke. 546 Twelfth street. Niagara
    Falls, this afternoon. Interment was
    In the family plot in St. Peter's
    Lutheran cemetery at North Ridge.

    NEWFANE. Dec. 6.-Mr. and Mrs.
    Herman Thielke of Ketchum avenue were
    tendered a delightful surprise Tues-
    day evening when relatives assembled
    at their home to celebrate their fiftieth
    wedding anniversary. The couple was
    married in an East Wilson Lutheran
    church. the late Rev. Abel performing
    the ceremony.
    Mr. and Mrs. Thielke are both In
    splendid health. They said that their
    wedding day was exceptionally warm
    and rain threatened while today is was
    cold and snowing. At that time Mr.
    Thielke rode horse back to the nearest
    post office to secure his weekly paper
    while now the daily sometimes arrives
    by airplane. Their first means
    of lighting their home was with candles
    but kerosene lamps soon came to be
    used while now their home is lighted
    with electricity. There were no tele-
    phones or many of the things now
    accepted as necessities but nevertheless,
    there was happiness just the same.
    Evenings were spent in the early days
    knitting or neighborhood parties
    then the fiddler furnished music for
    the square dances, polka and waltzes.
    The lunches on such occasions were
    hearty but not of ice cream, chocolates,
    etc of today.
    Mr. Thielke Is the son of the late
    Mr. and Mrs Godfrey Thielke who
    came from Germany about sixty years
    ago when Mr. Thielke was a young
    man. Mrs. Thielke is a daughter of
    the late Mr and Mrs. Fred World
    of Wilson and has spent her entire
    in this vicinity.
    Mr. and Mrs. Thielke have two sons.
    Wilson and Louis both of Newfane
    who were present at the anniversary
    as were also their wives and grand-
    children Herman, Mabel and Janet.
    also a niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs.
    Ernest World of East Wilson.
    Gifts of gold were received and re-
    freshments served.

    2. THIELKE, Louis C was born on 28 Mar 1891 in New York; died in Dec 1981 in El Cajon, San Diego County, CA.
