    Injured Wednesday afternoon- as
    he was crossing Whirlpool street
    from the sewage disposal plant,
    where he was employed, John Gilbert O.
    Aldous, 155 Sixty-first street,
    died this morning at 5 o'clock in
    Mt. St. Mary's hospital. His death
    brings the total number of fatalities
    from automobile accidents to eight
    for the current year. When struck
    by the automobile Mr. Aldous suffered
    a compound fracture of the
    right leg and Internal injuries. Dr.
    Harry R. Ernes, coroner, announced
    today that he would hold an Inquest.
    The car which struck Mr. Aldous
    was driven, police reported, by John
    week. M. Klouse, 1868 Willow avenue. In
    his statement to police Mr. Klouse
    said that several men were crossing
    the street from the disposal
    plant at 4:40 p j n . and .that Mr.
    Aldous and another man crossed In
    front of the automobile and then
    Mr. Aldous turned back Into the
    path of the car and was struck.
    Mr. Aldous is survived by his wife,
    Elizabeth B. Aldous. and two children.

    also survived by his parents. Mr.
    and Mrs. John H. Aldous. of this city,
    and one sister. Mrs. Edna Cole,
    of Youngstown. Funeral arrange-
    have not yet b e e n c o m p l e t.

    Bom in Morrlstown, Pa., Mr. Aldous
    came to this city from Shirley.
    Indiana. 33 years ago. Enlisting in
    the United States Army when he
    was 17, at the outbreak of .the World
    War. he saw service overseas. He
    is a member of the American Legion
    and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
    A painter by trade, Mr. Aldous was
    formerly foreman for the William
    J. Vanderlip painting company and
    has been employed for the past
    five years by the city as a painter.

    Mrs. Jennie E. Aldous. 62. Creek
    road, Youngstown, formerly of this
    city, who suffered a cerebral stroke
    two months ago, died at Memorial
    hospital today where she had been
    a patient for seven weeks. She and
    her husband. John H. Aldous. who
    died last September 11, resided at
    645 Elmwood avenue for 25 years
    until la.st April when they went to
    Youngstown to make their home
    with their daughter, Mrs. Edna
    Cole, who survives.
    Born December 12. 1874, at Blue
    Bell. Pa., a daughter of the late
    Oliver and Mary Ann Shenline Lutz.
    Mrs. Aldous came to this city 38
    years ago.
    Other survivors Include three sisters
    and two brothers, Mrs. Edna
    Rath. St. Petersburg, Fla.. Mrs. Alice
    Ortstadt and Mrs. Louis Griffith,
    this city; Albert and Howard Lutz,
    Norristown, Pa.
    Funeral services will be held at 2
    p. m., Friday at the Gridley Funeral
    home, 750 Main street. The Rev.
    Arthur H. Schmoyer, D. D., pastor
    of Zion Evangelical Lutheran
    church, Michigan avenue and Tenth
    street, will officiate. Interment will
    be in Riverdale cemetery.

    James D White. 82. died today
    at his home. 1025 Main street, after
    a long illness.
    Born at Cape Bauld. N B . Mr
    White had been a resident of this
    city for the last 45 years. He was
    a retired employe of the Auto-Lite
    Battery corporation.
    Surviving are his wife. Mrs Bridget
    King White, two daughters. Mrs.
    Elizabeth Aldous. this city, and Miss
    Delvina White. Richmond. Va. a
    son. Joseph H. White. Richmond,
    two ' grandchildren and a great
    grandchild.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the Quinn and Reardon Funeral
    home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
    and at St Mary's of the Cataract
    church at 10 o'clock. Interment will
    be in Gate of Heaven cemetery.
