    The marriage of Miss Marilynn Virginia Steck, daugh-
    tar of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J, Stack of Chapel road. Kenmore,
    to Pvt. James Richard Alliger son of Mr and Mrs.
    Frank L Alliger of Clinton street, was solemnised Saturday
    afternoon, May 9, at 4:80 o'clock in All Saints Episcopal
    church, Buffalo, the Rev. Siegfrid W. Sundin officiating.
    The bride, who was given in
    marriage by her father, wore a
    gown of white net with a train
    and her veil of illusion fell from
    a headdress of seed pearls. She
    carried a shower bouquet of white
    roses and white lilacs.
    Miss Mary Ellen Compton of
    Detroit, Mich., was maid of honor,
    wearing a gown of blue net and
    her bouquet was of white lilacs
    and pink roses. Miss Betty Lou
    Kehrer of Buffalo acted as brides-
    maid, attired in pink net, with
    which she carried purple lilacs
    and pink roses, and Miss Jewel
    Aungst was flower girl wearing
    a colonial costume and carrying
    a colonial bouquet.
    Mr. Frank I Alliger, Jr. at-

    tended his brother as bestman,
    and the ushers were Mr. Francis
    Gruen and Pvt. L. A. Bridgeman
    of Niagara Fails, who was home
    on a furlough treat Camp Stewart,
    VA.
    Following the ceremony a dinner
    was given at the Hotel Fairfax,
    Buffalo, where covers were
    laid for twenty five at a T shaped
    table decorated with s tiered wedding
    cake and spring flowers.
    Mr. and Mrs. Alliger have left
    for a several day motor trip following
    which Mr. Alliger will return
    to Camp Stewart, Ga„ where
    he is stationed with ths U. S.
    Coast Artillery,

    TONAWANDA, Oct 15 - Frank
    I. Alliger, 80, Tonawanda's first
    mayor, died today at his home, 81
    Clinton street, after a short Illness
    Mr. Alllger was a pioneer lumber
    dealer here and was active in civic
    matters for many years. He was a
    member of the Board of Education
    for 13 years and was prominently
    identified with trade and service
    organization. He was one of the
    organizers of the Buffalo Automo-
    "bWcIub and served on the State
    Highway commission when the first
    Buffalo-Niagara Falls boulevard was
    built. He was a member of the
    Rotary club, Tonawanda lodge 247,
    F and AM, and the Democratic
    party.
    Surviving are his wife, Mabel Alii
    ger; two sons, Frank L. Alliger, jr.,
    this city, and James Alliger, of Kenmore;
    two daughters, Mrs. Myrna A.
    Bowen, of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs.
    Helen A. Jewett, of Yokohama,
    Japan; nine grandchildren; . four
    great grandchildren; one brother,
    Newton Alliger. of Wllimantlc,
    Conn., and a sister, Mrs. Magdalene
    Galatain, of East Greenwich. N.Y.
    Funeral services will be held Sunday
    at 2:30 p.m. at the home. The
    Rev. Wesley Baker, of Riverside
    Presbyterian church, Niagara Falls,
    and the Rev. Stanley Boughton, of
    this city, will officiate.

    services will be held at 2 p.m.
    Tuesday for Mrs. Mabel Stry-
    ker Alliger, 89, of 81 Clinton
    St., Tonawanda, who died Sun-
    day (Dec. 20, 1959) in the Naz-
    areth Nursing home, 291
    North St.
    Mrs. Alliger was the widow
    of Frank I. Alliger, Tonawanda's
    first mayor.
    A lifelong Tonawanda resi
    dent, she was one of the old-
    est members of the First Pres-
    byterian Church here. Until
    several years ago she was
    active in women's groups at
    the church.
    Her husband served as mayor
    of the city after it received
    its charter in 1903. A
    lumber dealer, he owned the
    Alliger Box and Lumber Co.
    before he retired in 1919. He
    died in 1948.
    Mrs Alliger is survived by^-
    two sons, Frank I. Alliger Jr.,
    Grand Island, and James R.
    Alliger, Town of Tonawanda;
    two daughters, Mrs. Myrna A.
    Bowen, Greenville, S.D., and
    Mrs. Kelsey H. Jewett, North
    Tonawanda.
    She is also survived by nine
    grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
    The funeral services will be
    conducted at Mrs. Alliger's
    home by the Rev. Donald V.
    Roberts.

    Woodlawn cemetery.
