    GASPORT — Ronald Leo Romanowski, age 76, of Gasport, entered into rest on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at his home. Born August 20, 1937 in Buffalo, Ron was the son of the late Leo and Annette "Toni" (Kokoszka) Romanowski.

    Ronald graduated from Akron High School in 1955. He then went to the State University of New York in Albany and was a distinguished graduate of the Chinese Language Linguist program through Yale University. After graduation he served his county in the US Air Force from November 30, 1956 until November 29, 1960, in Korea as a linguist. Ronald married Nancy on April 15, 1967 at Covenant United Church of Christ. They had been married for 46 years. Ronald had worked at Norton Laboratories, Plaslok Corp and Plenko, Inc., retiring in 2007. Ron was a member of Covenant United Church of Christ where he was a former trustee, Gasport Lodge #787 F & AM and the Dale Association.

    Ron enjoyed his family and friends, most of all his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed football, hockey and all sports. He had lived in Gasport for the past 35 years; previously of Buffalo and Akron.

    He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Seward) Romanowski; loving son, Craig Romanowski and his wife, Jennifer May and granddaughter, Zoe Romanowski; loving daughter, Jennifer Ross and her husband, Michael and children Michael and Juliana; sisters, Patricia (the late John) Socha and Linda (Dan) Bixler; mother-in-law, Susan (Seward) Kidney; brothers-in-law, Richard (Diane) Seward, A. James (Mary) Seward and sister-in-law, Patricia (the late Joe) Lazaro. Ronald is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

    Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Monday from 4:30 until 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 1:30 PM at Covenant United Church of Christ, 4449 Main Street, Gasport, NY.     Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Bane of 4497 Orchard
    Place, Gasport, announce the engagement of
    Miss Nancy Seward, the daughter of Mrs. Bane
    and the late Arthur J. Seward, to Ronald Romanowski,
    son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Romanowski of
    7284 East Creek Road, Lockport.
    Miss Seward was graduated from Royalton-
    Hartland Central High School and attended the
    New York State College at Fredonia and the
    State University of New York at Buffalo. She is
    employed at Farmer's and Mechanic's Savings
    Bank of Lockport.
    Mr. Romanowski, a graduate of Akron Central
    High School, attended both the State University
    College at Albany and Yale University. He is
    employed at Norton Laboratories Inc., Lockport.
    An April wedding is planned.

    were united in marriage at
    6:30 p.m. Saturday, April
    15, 1967 at a candlelight service
    in the Gasport United
    Church of Christ.
    The Rev. George A. Paboojian
    officiated at the double-
    ring ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter
    of Mrs. Gaylord M. Bane of
    4497 Orchard Place, Gasport
    and the late Arthur J.
    Seward. The bridegroom is
    the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo
    J. Romanowski, of 7284 East
    Creek Road, Lockport.
    The church was decorated
    with candelabra, palms
    and baskets of white gladioli
    and daisies. The soloist,
    Mrs. Joann Beach, was accompanied
    at the organ by
    her husband, Richard
    Beach.
    The bride was given in
    marriage by her step - father,
    Gaylord M. Bane. She
    wore a gown of white peau
    de soie, with a scoop neckline,
    accented with French
    imported Alencon lace, as
    were her long tapered
    sleeves and A-line, floor
    length skirt. Her cathedrallength
    train, attached at the
    empire waist line of her
    gown, was also complemented
    with Alencon lace detail.
    A three - tiered veil of silk
    illusion fell from a headpiece
    of aurora borealis
    beads and petals of pearls.
    Miss Seward carried a
    white orchid, resting on a
    white Bible, with cascading
    lilies of the valley, stephanotis
    and ivy.
    Her honor attendant was
    her sister, Mrs. Patricia
    Alt, of Flushing. Mrs. Alt
    wore a gown of avocado
    green peau de soie, with a
    fitted empire bodice, Kabbuki
    sleeves, trimmed in
    Venetian lace and a fulllength
    A-line skirt. Her
    headpiece was a chrysanthemum
    caught up by a bouffant
    veil of tulle, in colors
    to match the gown.
    The bridesmaids, Miss
    Linda Romanowski of
    Lockport, sister of the
    groom, and Miss Beverly
    Slocum, of Buffalo, were
    dressed similarly to the honor
    attendant, but in shades
    of antique gold. Each carried
    bouquets of white dais-
    ies, tied with avocado green
    ribbon.
    Donald L. Proietty, of
    Lockport, served as best
    man and the ushers were
    A. James Seward and Richard
    D. Seward of Gasport,
    brothers of the bride.
    A buffet reception followed
    the ceremonies in the
    Gasport Fire Hall. The couple
    planned a wedding trip
    to Miami Beach, Fla. and
    will make their home at 703
    East High Street, Lockport.
    The bride is a graduate of
    Royalton - Hartland Central
    School and attended Fredonia
    State Teachers College
    and the State University of
    New York at Buffalo. She is
    presently employed by the
    Farmers and Mechanics
    Savings Bank of Lockport.
    The groom is a graduate
    of Akron Central School
    and attended the State University
    College at Albany
    and Yale University. He is
    presently employed by Norton
    Laboratories, Inc. of
    Lockport
