    NIAGARA FALLS — Stella A. (Bank) Adamczyk, 92 years old, passed away on October 15, 2013, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. She was born on May 20, 1921 in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine (Gwodze) Bank.

    Mrs. Adamczyk attended local schools. On July 24, 1944, she enlisted in the Women's Army Corp, Division of the United States Army, for whom she was a clerk-typist until her honorable discharge on September 4, 1945. She was employed as a press operator for 44 years at the Carborundum Company-Globar Division until her retirement in June of 1983. She was a member of the Carborundum 25-Year Club and a former member of the Holy Trinity Seniors. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and playing bingo.

    Mrs. Adamczyk's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all her caregivers for their loving care given over this past year.

    Mrs. Adamczyk is survived by her son, Edward (Cynthia) Adamczyk of Niagara Falls and her daughter, Linda (Michael) Popowich of Hockessin, DE. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Adamczyk and Eric, David and Jeffrey Popowich and great-grandchildren, Aleena, Lyla and West Adamczyk, and Alexandra, Anna and Matthew Popowich. She is also survived by her brother, Edward (Genevieve) Bank of Lewiston and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Adamczyk, who passed away on December 14, 1984; her brothers, William, Matthew and Joseph Bank and her sisters, Helen Davis, Genevieve Nasiadka and Sophie Preisch.

    Friends may call on Friday from 7 until 9 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at St. Raphael's Parish, corner of College and Macklem Avenues, with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.

    Martin. Bank. 54, of 2113 Tennessee
    avenue, was fatally Injured at
    4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at
    the plant of the Pittsburgh Metallurgical
    company where he was employed.
    Coroner James W. Heary,
    who Investigated, said Mr. Bank
    was working on a gondola car and
    the crane bucket was swung too
    low fracturing the man's neck. A
    physician was called and rushed
    him to the hospital but he was
    beyond medical aid.
    Born In Poland, Mr. Bank had
    made his home In this city during
    the last 38 years and had been
    employed at the Metallurgical plant
    for over five years. He was an
    engineer working on Diesel engines
    In the factory yard. He was
    a veteran of World War 1.
    Besides his wife, Mrs. Cathrine
    Bank, at home, he is survived by
    the following children. William
    Bank, Mrs. Stella Adamczyk. Mrs.
    Jean Pole, and Helen, Matthew,
    Edward. Joseph and Sophie Bank,
    all of this city. He is also survived
    by three grandchildren, all of this
    city, and a sister, Sophie Krawczyk.
    of Depew, N.Y.
    The funeral will be held from tne
    family home tomorrow at 9 am.
    with services at St. Teresa church
    at 0:30 o'clock. Interment will be
    in Gate of Heaven cemetery
