84, widow of Burton S. Hurlbut,
died Sept. 4 in a Rome Hospital.
She was bom at Ava, daughter-
of- Hamilton and Martha
Haynes Barringer. She was married
to Mr. Hurlbut in 1904. in
Ava:
They operated—the Hurlbut
Homestead Farm until 1948,
when they moved to Boonville;
She retumed to Ava after her
husband's death in 1958. She was
a member of the Boonville
Methodist Church and Eli Mc
Clusky Bible Class.
She leaves three sons, Hollis
B. Hurlbut, West Branch; Clar-
ence H. Hurlbut, Lee Center;
and Lloyd W. Hurlbut,
Lee Center; four daughters,
Mrs. Lyle Wava Traxel, Rome;
Mrs. James (Alice) Mathewson,,
Lowell; Mrs. William (Myrtle)
Milles, Stokes, and Mrs. Wil-
lard (Marjorie) Backer, Ava.
The funeral will be at 2 Satur-
day from the Trainor Funeral
Home, Boonville. Burial will be
in Ava Cemetery.

A very pleasant event occured at the
home or Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton C.
Barrfnger Thursday when their two
daughters were united in marriage.
Nellie M. to Newton Tiffany, son of
Oscar Tiffany and S a t i e E. to Burton
Hurlbut. son of Henry Hurlbut. At 8
o'clock the strains of Wyman's wedding
march finelv rendered by Mrs
Herman Pohl. announced the coming of
the bridal party, who proceeded to the
parlor, which, was beautifully decorated",
and took their places under an arch
of lace and evergreens^ As_the organ
ceased Rev. George Dermott. pastor of
the M. F church, united four hearts for
life. Only the families of the contracting
parties was invited. The brides
were attired-in white India lawn with
lace trimmings. After congratulations
the company proceeded to the dining
room and partook of an elegant supper,
after which the time was spent in music
and a social time. A number of
beautiful presents were given them,
which attest the high esteem in which
the couples are held by their many
friends. After a short wedding trip
tbey will be at home to their many
friends at the homes of the grooms'
parents
