    Notes:

    Life Story

Richard ‘Dick’ W. Pysz, 90, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away on January 26, 2023 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Stanislaus and Teofila Pysz, and 8 siblings, Genevieve, Adam, Edward, Bruno Frank, Edward, Matthew, Chester, and Henry Pysz.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Kathleen (Quinn-Greenaway) Pysz; children, Judith Finley, Kristine (David) Augustyniak, Richard J. Pysz, and Lesley (Gary) Richman; grandchildren, Shannon and Edward Finley, Kaitlyn (Daniel) Kulesza, Lauren Augustyniak, Richie and Tanner Pysz and Emma and Leonardo Lombardi and great-grandchildren, Casimir Ulatowski and Kiara Finley.

Richard served 13 years in the United States Naval Air Reserves, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Niagara University, and had a successful career, for which he had great passion and pride, as a microscopist at Carbon Graphite Group. Dick was also a member of The Elks Club, and The LaSalle Sportsmen’s Club.

Richard had a contagious sense of humor, inspiring curiosity, and a tenacious thirst for knowledge. If you ever wanted to know anything about American history, all things science, or his idol, Albert Einstein, he seemed to always have the answers. He loved spending time with his family and friends, making everyone laugh, and telling stories of his life and adventures.

Richard’s family was the light of his life, and his greatest joy. His grandson said, “He was the best Papa,” and his granddaughter said “He was my idol and my hero.” He will be deeply missed by his family, to whom he lent his support, encouragement, and unwavering faith in all their endeavors.

Our Papa will be in our hearts forever. All that we are, we owe to you.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, from 4-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  Richard’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31st, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Robert Hughson serving as celebrant and Dick’s son-in-law, Deacon David Augustyniak serving as a minister to the Word of God. Friends invited.  Everyone assemble at church.  Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to ConnectLife, 4444 Bryant and Stratton Way, Williamsville, NY 14221.
