On Saturday, October 17, 2020, Jeanne Marie Shoemaker (nee Pouthier) of Olcott, NY, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 80.
Jeanne was born on April 5, 1940 in Cheektowaga, NY to Edwin G. and Claire E. Pouthier.   She graduated from Cazenovia College with an Associate's Degree, and worked as a secretary at Loblaws and Fisher Price until she married Edwin J.  Shoemaker on September 18, 1965.  They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Jeanne loved quilting, crossword puzzles, cooking, reading Stephen King, and writing.  She also loved wine.  Wine should probably have come higher on this list.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin, son John E. (Susan) and daughter, Heidi Beth.  Also surviving are her sister, Beth Ann Starks, brother, Thomas Pouthier, Zuzu (her beloved dog), several cousins, nieces and nephews, and the light of her life, granddaughter Jessica Ellen Shoemaker.  She is predeceased by her parents, and brother, Paul Pouthier.
There will be no visitation.  A private service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Niagara Hospice House.
