A quiet, but pretty wedding was solemnized
on Monday, September 2 at
9 o'clock when Miss Josephine Deters
became the bride of Leo Borks. Rev.
Father Olynn performed the ceremony.
The bride was attractively gowned
in a royal blue crepe ensemble with
hat and shoes to match. She carried
an arm bouquet of yellow tea roses
and baby's breath tied with tulle.
The bridesmaid. Miss Eleanor Kay, wore
a frock of Independence blue chiffon
and velvet with hat and shoes to
match. She carried an arm bouquet of
sweetheart roses tied with pink tulle.
Emmett Deters, brother of the bride
attended the groom.
A reception was held at the bride's
home, for the immediate families. After
two months trip to California. Mr.
and Mrs. Borks will make their home
In Cleveland avenue.

o'clock at his home and at' 1:30
a t the T r i n i t y -Lutheran c h u r c h , the
Rev Paul Gutknecht officiating. Mr.
B o r k s died on. S a t u r d a y a f t e r a ling
e r i n g illness. He was 58 y e a r s old
a n d was a well-known and highly
r e s p e c t e d resident of the n o r t h end
of the city. For many years he
w o r k e d at t h e s t o n e m a s o n t r a d e but
owing to Illness was compelled to
d i s c o n t i n u e work s o m e t i m e ago.
Mr. Borks is survived by three
d a u g h t e r s . Mrs. W a l t e r Gromoll. Mis.
A n d r ew Manz, nnd Mrs. Clyde Klchcy.

Mrs. Augusta Bertha Borks. widow
of Henry Borks, died at her
home, 1830 Cleveland avenue, this
morning, at the age of 81. She was
a native of Ottawa, Ont., and had
resided here 40 years.
She is survived by two sons. John
L. and Leo W. Borks; three daughters,
Mrs. Walter Gromoll, Mrs. Andrew
Manz and Mrs. Minnie Richey;
nine grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren,
all of this city. A
son, Walter C. Borks, was killed
during the first World War.
The funeral will be held from the
family home at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
with services at the Trinity Evangelical
Lutheran church at 2:30 p.
m., the Rev. M. J. Kretzmann officiating.
Burial will be in Oak wood
cemetery.
