    William G. Brandis, 71, of Clinton. Burial in Sunset Hill
    Grant road. Franklin Springs Cemetery. Friends so
    died Sunday, October 2, in
    Faxton Hospital after a long
    illness.
    He was born in Franklin
    Springs, March 29, 1906, son
    of William F. and Alice M.
    Greene Brandis. He was
    educated in Clinton schools
    and in Clinton, September 24,
    1927, he married Elizabeth R.
    Timian. The couple have
    always resided in Franklin
    Springs. For many years, Mr.
    Brandis was a self-employed
    dairy and hop farmer, and for
    over 20 years, was employed
    by the Town of Kirkland
    Highway Department,
    retiring in 1968. He was a
    member of Clinton Stone
    Presbyterian Church and the
    Men's Club of the Church,
    and the Pioneers of America.
    Besides his wife, he is
    survived by one son, William
    F. Brandis of Lacey.
    Washington, two grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held
    Wednesday, October 5, from
    the Owens Funeral Home,
    desiring may contribute
    the Heart Fund.

    William F. Brandis, of Franklin
    Springs, died In a Utlca hospital
    where he had been confined
    three weeks, on Saturday afternoon.
    He was born in Franklin Springs
    a son of William and Harriet Hart
    Brandis, August 17, 1859, and married
    Alice M. Greene, also Of that
    community January 6, 1885. Mr.
    Brandis conducted a meat business
    for 30 years and later operated
    a farm. He was a member
    of the Stone Presbyterian Church
    and of its Men's Club.
    Surviving besides his wife, are
    two sons, Durward F. Brandis and
    William G. Brandis, both of
    Franklin Springs; two brothers,
    Albert Brandis, Deansboro, and
    George Brandis, of Ogden, Utah;
    two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Platte,
    and Mrs. Cora Angell, St. Louis,
    Mo.; three grandsons, Durward H.
    Brandis, Hanover, N. H., Fay W.
    Brandis, Franklin Springs, and
    Donald Sill, of Frankllnvllle.
    The funeral was held from his
    late home Tuesday afternoon. Rev.
    Harold W. Wylle, pastor of the
    Stone Presbyterian Church, officiated.
    Bearers, were William
    Nichols, Marcus Grant, Edgar
    Wheeler, Frank Kirk, "Henry Miles
    and George Gruman. Interment
    w a s In Sunset Hill Cemetery where
    Rev. H. W. Wylle conducted the
    committal service.

    William married GREENE, Alice M on 6 Jan 1885. Alice (daughter of GREENE, Martin and START, Louisa) was born on 26 Jun 1868 in Town of Brookfield, Oneida County, NY; died on 23 Nov 1958 in Utica, Oneida County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mrs. Alice M. Brandis, aged 90,
    died November 23, in the Summit
    Nursing Home, Utica, after an illness
    of seven weeks. Private funeral
    serevices will be held at 2 this
    afternoon from the Owens Funeral
    Home, Clinton, with burial in Sunset
    Hill Cemetery. The Rev. W.
    Graham Smith will officiate.
    Alice M. Greene was born in
    Brookfield, June 26, 1868, daughter
    of Martin and Louisa Start Greene.
    She was educated in Clinton and
    attended Houghton Seminary. On
    January 6, 1885, she was married
    to William F. Brandis, and had been
    a resident of -Franklin Springs since
    then. Mr. Brandis died February
    16, 1935.
    Mrs. Brandiis was a member of
    the Stone Presbyterian Church and
    its Morrill Bible Class.
    She leaves two sons, Durwood F.
    and William G., both of Franklin
    Springs; a brother,. M. Seymour
    Greene, Syracuse; four grandchildren,
    eight great-grandchildren; and
    several nieces and nephews.
