    Joseph A. Ababurko, of Niagara Falls, NY, died unexpectedly on February 22, 2015 at the age of 39.

    Joe is survived by his loving Mother, Paula Lawrie(nee Prohaska) and his daughter, Mercedes Ababurko both of Niagara Falls, NY; 2 brothers, Robert Ababurko, Jr. of San Francisco and Kevin Lawrie (Julienne) of New York City; his grandmother, Marilyn Harmon of Tonawanda, NY; his grandfather, Arthur Prohaska of Newfane, NY along with his Aunts Cheri Sparks of North Tonawanda, NY, Sandy Prohaska of Tonawanda NY, and Sherry Prohaska of Lockport, NY, along with many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Robert G. Ababurko, Sr. in 2014 and his loving Uncle, Joseph Prohaska in 2005.

    Joe was born in North Tonawanda, NY on March 7, 1975. He attended Lewiston Porter High School. In 1998 he welcomed his beautiful daughter Mercedes, who was the light of his life.

    Joe was a skilled, ASE Certified Automobile Technician with years of experience. His contagious smile, endless sense of humor and big heart touched everyone in his life. He was a loyal friend, a committed father, a loving son and loving brother. Joe treasured spending time with his daughter, sharing laughs with friends and shooting darts. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

    Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 26th from 5pm to 7pm at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home on Military Road in Niagara Falls, with a memorial service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers and donations, the family has established a college trust fund to fulfill Joe's wish that his daughter receive a college education.     Age 68, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Wednesday (February 16, 2022) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Paula was born in North Tonawanda on February 7, 1954, to Arthur Prohaska and Marilyn (Parmentier) Harmon. Paula was a retired office manager and she enjoyed social gatherings with friends, family, and in particular spending time with her grandkids. Paula was predeceased by her father Arthur Prohaska, brother Joseph Prohaska and son Joseph Ababurko. Paula is survived by her children Kevin Lawrie, and Robert Ababurko, sister of Cheryl Sparks, Sandy Prohaska; grandmother of Mercedes Marie Ababurko, Jude Lawrie, Sloane Lawrie and Monroe Lawrie and great-grandmother of Mackenna and Nico; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Sally, Jean, Shirley and Edward. Also many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a life long dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. There will be no prior visitation.     PROHASKA – John T. Prohaska, 64, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Thursday (May 9, 1974) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mr. Prohaska was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, a retired postal employee and member of St. Mark Lutheran church.

    He is survived by his wife, Mildred (nee Vogt) Prohaska; a son, Arthur A., and two daughters, Mrs. Norbert (Carol) Schultz and Mrs. Philip (Sharon) Durlick, all of North Tonawanda; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Frank of Buffalo, Peter of Alden and Joseph Prohaska of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Miss Ann Prohaska of New York City and Mrs. James (Helen) Polizzi of Buffalo.

    The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, North Tonawanda, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in St. Mark Lutheran Church, Monday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Edward C. Goehner will officiate. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.
