    MIDDLEPORT-Charles Buth, 82,
    retired farmer, died Thursday at
    his residence on the Fisk Road,
    Wokottsville. after a short Illness.
    Born in Germany, he came to
    this country at the age of 2, and
    has resided in the town of Royalton
    for the past 55 years. He operated
    a threshing machine outfit and a
    cider mill for many years before
    his retirement.
    Surviving are his widow, Ida
    Becker Buth; two sons, Fred Buth
    of Lockport and Herman Buth of
    Wolvottsville; three daughters,
    Mrs. Louise Beyer and Mrs.
    Harold Borchart of Akron, and
    Mrs. Frank Wollenberg of Royal-
    ton; seven grandchildren, two
    great-grandchildren, and one sister
    Mrs. John Sy of Wolcottsville.
    Funeral will be at 2 o'clock Sun-
    day in the residence and at 2:30 in
    Trinity Lutheran Church, Wolcotts-
    ville, with the Rev. Herman Ewald
    officiating. Burial will be in Trinity
    Lutheran Cemetery.

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buth of Akron

    were pleasantly surprised by
    their family on Thanksgiving dsy,
    at the home of their daugtiter, Mrs.
    Louis Beyers, of Akron, the occasion
    being their fortieth wedding anni-
    versary.
    The house was prettily decorated
    in yellow and eighteen were seated
    at the table, where the color scheme
    in yellow was effectively carried out,
    the center piece being a large bou-
    quet of daffodils and the favors
    were small yellow candles which
    when lighted gave a very pretty ef-
    fect.
    The guests included Mrs. Mary

    Borchert and Mr. and Mrs. Harold
    Borchert and daughter, Mr. and
    Mrs. Herman Buth and .son, and
    Miss Ada Buth, all of Akron, Franklin
    Wollenberg, of Gasport, and Mr
    and Mrs. Frederick Buth and child-
    ren, of Lockport. Cards and music
    were the feature of the day and Mr.
    and Mrs. Buth received many good
    wishes from all present.

    AKRON - A native of Germany,
    and former Wolcottsville resident,
    Mrs. Charles Buth died early
    this morning (Sept. 10, 1957) at
    the home of her daughter, Mrs.
    Harold Borchert. 156 Main St., Ak
    ron. She had been in failing
    health for some time.
    Born Dec. 30, 1964 in Germany,
    she was a daughter of Charles and
    Mary Becker, both of whom died
    while Mrs. Buth was a girl. She
    then came alone to the United
    States where she settled outside
    of Wolcottsville with brothers who
    had preceded her here.
    Nov. 29, 1888 she was married
    to Charles Buth, Wolcottsville, and
    the couple established ressidence on
    the Fisk Rd., Wolcottsville, where
    six children were both. Mrs. Buth
    became a Gold Star Mother fol-
    lowing her son, John's death in
    World War II.
    Mr. and Mrs. Buth celebrated
    their Golden Wedding Anniversaty
    in 1928 and Mr. Buth died in 1944.
    Another son, Fred, died seven
    years ago. For the last few years
    she had been spending part of the
    year with her daughter, Mrs. Bor-
    chert, in Akron and the other with
    another daughter, Mrs. Franklin
    Wollenberg, Middleport.
    Other survivors include another
    daughter, Mrs. Louis Beyers, Ak-
    ron; one son, Herman, Wolcotts-
    ville; seven grandchildren and 11
    great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Bernhardt

    Funeral Home, 130 Main St..
    Akron, where prayer service will
    be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30
    followed by funeral services from
    the Trinity Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville,
    at 2. The Rev. Herman
    Ewald, pastor of the church, will
    officiate, with burial in Trinity Lutheran
    Church Cemetery

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buth of Wolcottsville,

    who were married on
    Thanksgiving day In 1888 in Trinity
    Lutheran church, celebrated their
    golden wedding anniversary Tuesday.
    They have lived in their present
    home on the Fiske road for the entire
    60 years and on Tuesday it was
    attractively decorated, carrying out
    a color scheme of gold. Dinner was
    served from a table centered with
    a large wedding cake.
    Mr. and Mrs. Buth received many
    attractive gifts during-the day, as
    did their youngest granddaughter,
    Marian Buth, who celebrated her
    sixth birthday on the same day.
    Those attending were Mr. and
    Mrs. John Sy, Mr. and Mrs. Julius
    Becker, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Becker
    and daughters, Joyce and Nancy, the
    Rev. and Mrs. Herman Ewald.

    Hollenberg, Miss Wilda Westcott,
