    Miss Dorothy Kroening, whose
    wedding is to take place on Saturday
    was honor guest on Friday evening
    at a shower given by Mrs. Roy
    Daubney, of Cleveland avenue, in
    her home. The bride-elect was
    presented with a number of pieces
    of Rose Point crystal glassware.
    Games were played during the even-
    ing and, at its conclusion, a de-
    lightful lunch was served by the
    hostess.
    Present in addition to Miss Kroenlng
    were Miss Dorothy Forbes, Miss
    Mildred Niedermayer, Miss Jean
    McMurry, Miss Evelyn Campbell,
    Mrs. Walter Kroening mother of the
    bride-elect, Mrs. Jack Thomas,, Mrs.
    William Boles,, Mrs. William Budge,
    Mrs. Christopher Budge,, Mr.
    Thomas Boyd and Mrs. Charles
    Gibs.

    Brady of Ontario Avenue, son of
    the late Mr. and Mrs. James J.
    Brady, whose marriage will take
    place Saturday evening, November
    2d, have chosen their wedding attendants.
    Mrs. William A. Boles will be
    her sister's matron of honor, Miss
    Erma Julias and Mrs. Ray Daubney,
    bridesmaids; Miss Marjory
    Lou Miller of North Tonawanda,
    cousin of the bride, flower girl;
    William A. Boles, best man, and
    Charles Gibb and Charles Carr,
    ushers. The ceremony will take
    place at Evangelical Trinity Lutheran
    Church and will be read by
    the Rev. Maurice C. Kretzmann.
    On Thursday night the brideelect
    was honor guest at a variety
    shower at which Mrs. George Milles
    was hostess at her North Tonawanda
    home; Friday night the
    Misses Evelyn Evans and Erman
    Julias feted her at a personal
    shower; on Tuesday evening Mrs.
    Clyde Shea will entertain for her
    at her Willow Avenue home, and
    on Friday Mrs. Daubney will give
    a crystal shower at her Cleveland
    Avenue home.

    Police Patrolman James J. Brady. 37
    years old, 2 Crick court, died in Mount
    St. Mary's hospital at 5 o'clock this
    morning, following an illnes of six
    weeks from kidney trouble. Patrolman
    Brady was to have undergone a blood
    transfusion operation today in an ef
    fort to save his life. Mrs.. Brady was
    to give a quantity of her blood to her
    husband, hospital authorities said.
    Mr. Brady was a lifelong resident of
    Niagara Falls. He was educated at the
    Sacred Heart school and joined the
    police department in 1923. Previously
    he was employed as a detective by the
    New York Central railroad. Although
    he had been ill for six weeks,, his death
    was unexpected and came as a shock to
    a large number of friends, and his as-
    sociates in the police department.
    Patrolman Brady is survived by his
    wife, Ruth, and three children, Leon-
    ard James, Frances and Elizabeth
    Brady. His mother, Mrs. Anna O'Hara,,
    this city, and three sisters,, Mrs Mary
    Miller, Sackaugavian, Canada, Mrs.
    Leo Kane and Mrs.. Earl Phelps of this
    city, also survive.
    Funeral arrangements have not yet
    been completed.

    Mrs. Ruth Brady, widow of Patrolman
    James Brady, died last night at
    her home, 329 Fourth street. She
    was 38 years old and had been ill for
    the past nine months.
    A native of Ithaca, Mrs. Brady had
    lived in Niagara Falls for the past 18
    years. She was a member of the
    Pocahontas order and had a wide
    circle of friends, among whom she
    was held in high esteem. Her husband
    died about six years ago. She
    is survived by two sons, Leonard J.
    and Francis C. Brady; one daughter,
    Elirabeth Brady, and her mother, Mrs.
    Nelson, all of this city.
    Plans for the funeral were being
    completed today.

    Mrs. Charlotte Nelson, 80, of 233
    Seventy-first street, a' native: of
    Odessa, N.Y., and a resident of this
    city; for the last 25 years, died late
    yesterday after a short Illness', at Mt
    St. Mary's hospital.
    Mrs. Nelson is survived by three
    grandchildren, T/Sgt. Leonard Brady,
    this .city. M/Sgt. Louis Brady, San
    Francisco. Calif., and Mrs. Elizabeth
    Ventrilla,this city.
    Funeral- services will be held at
    9:45 a. m. Friday at the Lane funeral
    home, with a Requiem Mass at 10
    a. m. at St John de LaSalle church.
    Interment will be in Gate of Heaven
    cemetery.
