    NORTH TONAWANDA. Aug. 6-
    William J. Abram, 47.. died today at
    his home. 779 Nash road, after a
    long illness. A life long resident, he
    was a member of the Payne Avenue
    Church of Christ and the Columbia
    Hook and Ladder company.
    Surviving are his wife, Ruth V.
    Abram; two daughters. Sandra
    Ruth Abram and Kathleen May
    Abram; a brother. George, of Tonawanda,
    and three sisters, Mrs.
    Sarah Humphries. Niagara Falls,
    Mrs. Wallace Johns and Mrs. Lena
    Rogers, of this city.
    Last rites will be held Monday at
    2 p.m .at the Hamp funeral hom,
    37 Adam street. Burial will be in

    Elmlawn cemetery.

    A beautiful wedding took place
    Saturday noon, July 15 when
    Miss Ruth Volkstadt, daughter of
    Mr. Charles Volkstadt of 46 Ganson
    street became the bride of
    Mr. William Abram.
    The Rev. Walter Scott Cook, pastor
    of Christ Church, Erie, Pa.,
    performed the ceremony. Preceding
    the ceremony Miss Kathryn
    Scott, organist, played "Ava Maria"
    and "I Love You Truly."
    The bride, who entered the
    church on the arm of her father,
    was attractively gowned in white
    chiffon made princess style with
    a shirred bodice, and topped with
    a tucked jacket. Her finger tip
    veil of illusion fell from a halo
    of orange blossoms. She carried
    a colonial bouquet of white roses,
    sweet peas and gypsophila.
    Miss Florence Volkstadt, who
    was her sister's maid of honor, was
    attired In a dusty rose chiffon
    made on princess lines with shirred
    bodice and tiny smocked sleeves.
    Her colonial bouquet was of
    Talisman roses and sweet peas ed
    ged with a pleated ruffle of powder
    blue maline.
    Miss Carol Volkstadt, niece of
    the bride, was junior bridesmaid.
    She wore a long dress of powder
    blue chiffon, with a shirred bodice
    and tiny puffed sleeves, with
    dusty rose velvet bows at the
    shoulders. Her bouquet was a
    small replica of the maid of honors,
    edged with dusty rose maline.
    The groom was attended by Mr
    Donald Hooper.

    Immediately following the ceremony
    a wedding breakfast was
    held at Waite's Brookside Inn, covers
    being laid for fifteen. In the
    evening a reception for sixty
    guests was held at the home of
    the bride.
    Entertainments for the bfidewere
    a surprise shower by Mrs.
    Albert Walker of Buffalo, a linen
    shower by Mrs. Howard Volkstadt
    of Niagara Falls, a variety
    shower by Miss Florence Volkstadt
    and a wiener roast by the girls of
    the lantern department of the Niagara
    Searchlight company.
    For traveling the bride selected
    black marquisette over taffetta
    with white accessories.

    Mr. and Mrs. Abram left on
    a honeymoon to the Thousand Islands
    and the Adirondack mountains.
    After August 1st, they will
    be at home at 46 Ransom street.

    Mrs. Alvin Abram, 77 years old
    died last night at the home of her
    daughter Mrs. Wallace Johns, 71
    Linwood avenue, North Tonawanda
    after a prolonged illness. Born in
    Germany, she had resided in North
    Tonawanda for the past 40 years
    She was a member of the St.
    Peter's Evangelical church, Thomp
    son and Bryant streets. She was
    a member of the Ladies' Aid society
    of the church. Surviving are
    two daughters. Mrs. Johns and Mrs
    Helen Rogers; three sons, Charles
    nd Arnold Harms and William
    Abram, all of North Tonawanda;
    even grandchildren and three sis-
    ters. Mrs. Augusta Heppner, North
    tonawanda, Mrs. Charles Kolloff
    Youngstown, N.Y., and Mrs. Aman-
    da Martin, Berlin, Germany. The
    funeral will be held Wednesday
    afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
    late residence. Rev. Ernst Schneppe
    will officiate and burial will be in
    Sweeney cemetery.
