On Wednesday, October 16th, at
4 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
John Sweet of Newfane, the marriage
of their daughter Pearl L-. to Walter
E Berg, was solemnised in the presence
of some 20 guests, Rev, K. E.
Jones of Newfane, officiating.
The wedding music was rendered by
Miss Doris K. Richie and the bride,
given in marriage ay her father, wore
a gown of white net over satin and her
bouquet was of bride roses.
She was attended by Miss Almeda
E. Morden of Newfane, as bridesmaid,
wearing Alice blue crepe de chine
while her flowers were pink roses.
Mr, William F. Blumrick of Applrton,
was the groom's beat man.
At the supper which followed, twelve
were seated at the bridal table which
was arranged In colors of pink and
white.
The brides gift to her maid was a
handsome lavalliere and to his best
man the groom presented a set of gold
cuff links.
Mr. and Mrs. Berg left for a trip to
New York City, the bride wearing a
suit of navy blue broadcloth with hat
t« correspond and upon their rctarn
they will reside at 97 Price St., this
city.
Among the out-of-town guests were
Misses Lucille Bellinger and Marie
Clapsattle of this ctty.

while the JOURNAL'S press is humming
off the last edition of to-day's paper.
The marriage of Miss Hannah Werth of
Bergholtz to Mr. Frank Berg, a successful
young carpenter and builder of this
city, takes place at the German Evangelical
Lutheran Trinity church, corner
Saxton and Lagrange streets, the Rev.
A. H. Michael, pastor, officiating,, this
afternoon at 5 o'clock. After the ceremony
the happy couple will receive invited
friends at their future home on
Niagara street.

Mrs. Augusta Berg died this morning,
December 30, 1918, at the age
of 80 years' at the home of her son
Frank Berg on the Charlotteville
Road.
She leaves one son and two daughters,
Frank Berg of Newfane, N. Y.,
Mrs. Charles Hartgam of Ransomvllle,
N. Y„ Mrs. William Enslnminger of
Shawnee, N. Y., one step-daughter,
Mrs. George Malfarth of Brooklyn,
N. Y., also 16 grand-children and 13
great grand-children. Funeral services
wll he held from the home ot
her son Frank Berg, Tuesday- afternoon,
December 31st, a t 1 o'clock.
Interment will be made in the German
Lutheran Cemetery, Lockport,
N. Y.

William J. G. Werth, 80 years old, a well known resident of North Tonawanda,
died at the DeGraff Memorial hospital on Tuesday night after a lingering illness. The body was removed to the home of his son, William Werth, at No. 60 Jackson avenue. Mr. Werth was born in Germany and had lived here over a half a century, He is survived by two sons, Hubert Werth of Lockport and William Werth of Gratwick; three daughters, Mrs. William Volchow of Lockport, Mrs. Joseph Roulley of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Fred Berg of Burt, and one brother, John Werth of Germany. The
funeral will be held from the Werth home on Jackson avenue at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and a half hour later from St. Mark's church on Washington street, the Rev. Martin Human officiating. Burial will be in Bergholtz.
