An ankle length gown of white bridal satin was worn
by Miss Gladys June Fox for her mariage to Lloyd Norman
Benthin July 26 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Evangelical and
Reformed Church of Shawnee. The Rev. E. Sideris officiated
before the gladioli adorned altar.
The bride is the daughter of' Mr. &
and Mrs. Elmer Fox of Sweeney
St. and the bridegroom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. John Benthin of
Shawnee Rd., Sanborn.
A sweetheart neckline of; illusion
and sleeves ending in points upon
the wrists complimented the bridal
costume. A crown of white apple
blossoms held the veil of illusion.
White carnations and baby's breath
formed the bouquet.
Miss June Schrieber, maid of honor,
wore a strapless gown of lavender
net and a lace cape. The
bridesmaid, Miss Audrey Fox, was
similarly gowned in green. Both
carried yellow roses and carnations.
Ronald Fox was best man. Ushering
were Clifford Gauda and Roger
Benthin. ' .
An aqua,silk print dress with
whits accessories and a corsage, of
yellow roses was selected by the
bride's mother. Mrs. Benthin favored,
a navy ensemble accented by
pink- roses," ' .
A reception for iso people was
given at the Shawnee Fire Hall-
Out of town guests-were from Bergen,
Lockport, Medina, Buffalo and
Wilson.
The b r i d a l couple journeyed
through the Finger Lake region for
their honeymoon. Mrs. Benthin is
now at home with her parents in
Sweeney St. Her husband has left
for army training.
Shower hostesses were Miss Audrey
Fox, Miss June Schrieber and
Mrs. Milo Barber.

Stricken ill while swimming at
Park . today,; eight-years-old,
Bernat, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Stephen Bernat, 2755 Independence
avenue, died shortly after
being: admitted to Mt. St. Mary's
hospital.
Attendants at the hospital .were
informed that the girl was swimming
in the park pool this morning
when, she became nauseated and
went to a dressing room.
Her mother was summoned to the
pool and-a physician's services were
obtained before the child was removed
to' the hospital: where emergency
' treatment was' administered
before she was pronounced dead.
'At the hospital it was reported
that Dr. Henry C Lapp, North
Tonawanda coroner, had ordered an
autopsy- to: be performed on the
child's body this afternoon

LOCKPORT, Aug. 15-Edward
Glena, 63, of the Akron road, died
yesterday at Lockport City hospital
after an illness of three years.
Born in the Town of Royalton, on
May 8, 1890, Mr. Glena for many
years was an operator of the Seed
and Cider mill in the Akron road.
Surviving are his wife, Irene
Rankie Glena; two sons, Howard
and LaVern; a daughter, Mrs.
Howard Mclntyre. all of Lockport;
his mother, Mrs. Lillie Glena;
two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Gurevitsch,
North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Norman
Rankie, Royalton.
Services will be held Monday at
2:30 p.m. at the Gaul Funeral
home. Burial will be in Cold
Springs cemetery.

WILSON, Aug. 15 - At a dou-
ble ring ceremon at 3 o'clock on
August 8, Miss Helen Esther Schaal,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
F. Schaal, Wilson, was united in
marriage to Burnette C. Wollaber,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar C.. Wo-
laber, Sanborn at St. Paul's Evan-
gelical Lutheran church, Wilson.
The Rev. Bernard Walck, Taylors-
ville, N. C., cousin of the bride, of-
ficiated at the candlelight ceremony.
The petite bride was given in
marriage by her father before an
altar decorated with baskets of
white gladiolas, w h i t e carnations
and palms. She wore a gown of
imported chantilly lace and satin
with an illusion neckline in an of-
the-shoulder effect. The lines of
the gown were form fitting with
lace finished off into deep scallops
revealing a flounce of nylon tulle.
She wore a band trimmed with vel-
veteen forget-me-nots, attached to
a double illusion scalloped finger-
tip veil. She carried a cascade of
white roses centered with a white
orchid and wore pearl ear rings,
the gift of the bridegroom.
Miss Delores Schaal, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor,
gowned in a strapless bodice of
pink mylon tulle over taffeta with
lace jacket. She wore a head band
of deep pink roses and carried a
nosegay of same, a string of pearls,
the gift of the bride, completed
the outfit.
Miss Ruth Schaal, sister of the
bride, and Mrs. Donald Pierce,
Lewiston, bridesmaids, were simi-
larly gowned in mint green with
head bands of yellow roses and car-
ried nosegays of same.
Little Bonnie Beutel, cousin of
the bride, was flower girl, gowned
in white nylon net over taffeta with
an illusion neckline. She wore a
head band of yellow roses adn car-
ried a basket of white mums and
yellow roses.
Donald Pierce served as best
man, and Elton Schaal, brother of
the bride, Kenneth Wollaber, Har-
old Wollaber, brothers of the
bridegroom, and Larry Eckler, per-
formed the ushering duties.
During the ceremony miss Mar-
garet Romweber, Franklinville,
sang "O Perfect Love". "O Promise
Me" and "The Lords Prayer." She
was accompanied at the organ by
George McComb.
Miss Edin Schaal, mother of the
bride, chose a street-length gown
of Alive Blue chantilly lace with
white accessories. Her corsage was
of yellow roses. Mrs. Wollaber,
mother of the bridegroom, was at-
tired in a street-length dark green
crepe frock with matching acces-
sories and a corsage of pink roses.
An evening reception for 175
guests was held at American Legion
hall, Ransomville. A three-tiered
wedding cake with candles on either
side graced the bride's table
The bride chose a suit of aqua
colored linen with black velvet ac-
cessories and white orchid for her
wedding trip. Following a honey-
moon in the Adirondacks, Mr. and
Mrs. Wollaber will make their
home on Town Line road, Wilson.
Prenuptial showers, in honor of
the bride, were given by Mrs. C. E.
Gritzmacher, Wilson, Mrs. Donald
Pierce, Lewhton, and Miss Delores
Schaal, Wilson.

for Floyd Earl Bellis, 67,
of 221 13th St.. foreman of the
Youngsotwn Cold Storage plant,
who died at Memorial Hospital
Saturday (Aug. 13, 1955.)
Mr. Bellis was a native of Canandaigua.
He had lived in this
city for the last five years and,
prior to coming here, lived at Lewiston
for 15 years.
He served as foreman at the
Youngstown Cold Storage plant for
the last seven years and as manager
of thc Model City Cold Storage
plant for nine years. He was
a veteran of World War I,
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mae
Bellis; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Johnpier,
this city; and a son, Donald
Bellis, Tonawanda; a brother, Rawlin
Bellis, living in Pennsylvania
and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Stock-
ings, Wayland. He also is survived
by four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Bellis
will be conducted at the Tubinis
Funeral Home at It a.m. tomorrow
with the Rev. Lawrence Herfurth
officiating.
Burial will be in the Rushville
Cemetery, Rushville.

man, Md., and had lived in this
city for the last 19 years.

Mt. St. Mary's Hospital yesterday
(Aug. 14, 1956).
In addition to her husband, she
is survived by a son, Bernard D.
Suitor, this city.
Born in Thorold, Ont.. Mrs.

of the First Presbyterian Church.

a dinner was served at a Buffalo hotel
to the wedding party. The home
of the bride was decorated and the
table-, from which a dainty lunch was
served at midnight, was centered with
a tiered wedding cake and roses.
After a short wedding trip they will
reside on the Nash road. The couple
received a number of pretty and useful
gifts.

The late summer was marked by a
very pretty wedding which took place
Saturday at 4 o'clock in the Sanborn
Baptist church when Miss Evelyn
Diller, daughter of Henry Diller, of
Sanborn, was united in marriage to
Reinhold P.. Kraase, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Rudolph Bohenstadt, of Lockport,
N. Y. The ceremony of the double
ring service was performed by the
Rev. Frank N. Taft under a beautiful
white arch hung with a wedding bell
and trimmed with pink crepe paper.
The altar was banked with ferns and
garden flowers.
Miss Ethel Miller played the Lohengrin
wedding march and Mrs. Howard
Quast sang "I Love You Truly." v
The bride was lovely in a gown of
white satin and lace, with lace trimmed
tulle veil and laco mitts. She
carried a. shower bouquet of sweetheart-
roses and baby's breath. She
was attended by Mrs. Elaine Ward,
who wore blue crepe with a pink tulle
head band and lace mitts and carried
red roses and baby's breath. Miss
Thelma Carlisle wore pink taffeta
with a blue head band and lace
mitts and carried a bouquet of red
roses and baby's breath.
Chauncey Diller, brother of the
bride, WM best man. The ushers
were Edgar Mielke, Wallace Eick and
Elwln Bodie.
The bride's gifts to her attendants
-were crystal necklaces and the groom's
attendants received gold tie clasps.
Following the ceremony there was a
reception at the homo of the groom's
parents. The rooms were tastefully
decorated with pink and white crepe
paper, with a wedding* bell overhanging
the bride's table. Covers were
laid for 50 guests, 14 being at the
bride's table which was centered with •
a large wedding, cake flanked with
tapers in silver holders.
Mr. and Mrs. Kraase started that
evening on a trip to Chicago^ 111., to
visit the World's Fair.
Pre-nuptlal affairs for the bride
were a bedroom shower given by Mr3.
Elaine Ward, of Niagara Falls, a
variety shower by Mrs. Paul Bohenstadt,
