rising the impressive ring service. The
Lohengrin wedding march was played
by Miss Myra E. Wakeman. sister of
the groom. The ceremony took place
.tmder a beautiful arch of pink and
White flowers. The bride was charming

feathered, making a butterfly effect,
With a wreath of orange blossoms In
her hair. She carried an arm bouquet
of brides roses and gypsophelias. She

"dinner was "served covers being laid for
twenty-four, twelve being seated at the
brides table. The house and table

motor trip to Boston and other Eastern

their return they will make their

A very pretty wedding took place
at 12 o'clock noon. Saturday. July
21, at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred H. Haseley, of Michigan avenue,
when their daughter, Elenor
Mildred, became the bride of Mr.
Norman Yarrington. son of Mr. Edward
Yarrington, of Medina. The
Rev. A. J. Prange. of Calvary Lutheran
church, performed the ceremony
before a bank of plams. tall
baskets of gladiolls and garden
flowers.
The bride, who was given in marriage
by her father, wore a floorlength
gown of white moussellne de
sole in chenille floral design, fashioned
with a sweetheart neckline
and puffed sleeves. With It she wore
long lace mitts. Her finger tip veil
of Illusion fell from a tiara of orange
blossoms. She carried a bridal
bouquet of pink and white roses
with touches of blue tlori with white
tulle.
Mrs. Leo Grassman, of Lcckport,
aunt of the bridegroom and the
bride's only attendant, wore pale
blue marquisette with a tiara of
pink rosebuds. She carried pink and
white roses tied with pink tulle.
Mr. Leo Grossman, the bridegroom's
uncle, was best man.
The Dornfeldt sisters, of Martinsville,
provided music for the ceremony.
After the wedding a dinner was
served for the Immediate families
at Belmer's Plantation. Later a reception
was held at the home of
the bride's parents for more than
75 guests. The buffet table was laid
with a lace cloth with a tiered wedding
cake centering the table. Tall
white tapers were at either end.
After the reception Mr. and Mrs.
Yarrington left on a motor trip to
Washington, D. C, Baltimore. Md.,
New York City and Philadelphia,
Pa. The bride traveled in a sheer
blue dress with white accessories.
Mr. and' Mrs. Yarrington will be at
home after August 10 at 2253 Michigan
avenue.

death occurred at the General hospital
last night of Mrs Maud M.
Terryberry, of 1052 Carlton street
Mrs. Terryberry was bom ln this
city, a daughter of the late William
and Jane Bowman, and had lived
here all of her life. She was a
member of Jepson street Baptist
church and took an active part in
church work. 8he was a member
of the Montrose Women's Institute.
Surviving Is her husband, William
H.; two sons, Raymond,'of Willoughby
township, and Charles, of
Stamford township; one daughter,
Mrs. R. C. Doan, of 8tamford; five
brothers, the Rev. Charles Bowman,
Maple. Ont, Fred Bowman, city,
Albert and Leslie Bowman, of Stamford,
and Owen, of Chippawa.
The body Is resting at the Morse
& Son funeral chapel until Sunday
morning. The funeral service will
be held Monday afternoon at 2
o'clock at the family home. Interment

PEKIN, N. Y.-The home of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward J. Mayer, Town
Line road, was the scene of a lovely
wedding on Saturday afternoon,
at 3 o'clock, when their daughter?
Katherine Lorraine, became the
bride of Mr. Charles Albert Beyer,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beyer,
of Newfane.
The double ring ceremony was
performed by the Rev. P. L Harburn,
pastor of the Pekin Methodist
church, before a large bay window,
banked with ferns, under an
arch of white satin ribbon. A large
white wedding bell hung from the
middle of the arch and large baskets
of gladioli were at either end
of the arch.
Mrs. William Southwood, Jr.. of
Snyder, cousin, of the bride, accompanying
herself, sang. "I Love You
Truly.'* and Because, preceding the
ceremony. She also played Lohengrin's
"wedding march when the
bridal party entered the living room.
The bride, who was given In marriage
by her brother, Howard Meyer,
was lovely in a gown of white
starched chiffon with panels of lace,
shirred bodice, sweetheart neckline
and short puffed sleeves. Her finger
tip veil of illusion net fell from
a cluster of orange blossoms. She
wore a heart shaped locket, the gift
of the groom and carried a shower
bouquet of white roses, white sweet
peas and fern tired with a white
satin bow.
Mrs. John Folmar, as matron of
honor, wore a gown of blue starch-
ed chiffon made exactly like the
brides. She wore a tiara of yellow
daisies in her hair and carried a
bouquet of yellow roses, blue del-
phinium, gypsophelia and fern tied
with a blue satin bow.
The groom chose John Folmar to

be his best man.
The bride's mother. Mrs. Edward
J. Mayer, wore a'dress of white silk
Jersey with blue polka dots and
white accessories. She wore a corsage
of pink roses.
Mrs. Walter Beyer, mother of the
groom, chose a dress of white
shadow chiffon with white accessories.
Her corsage was of pink
roses also.
The bride's grandmother. Mrs.
Jennie H. Eddy was dressed in
navy blue and wore a corsage of
pink roses and blue delphinium.
Mrs. William Southwood. Jr., wore
a dress of rose crepe, white acces
sories and corsage of pink roses.
The bride's gift to her matron of
honor, was a compact and the
groom gave a leather bill fold to the
best man.
A reception for about 40 guests
was held after the ceremony. The
bride's table with covers laid for
sixteen was centered with a large
four-tier wedding cake, topped with
a miniature bride and groom and
flanked by white candles in crystal
holders. Pink and white favors,
with place cards, marked each place.
The happy couple left, amid a
shower of confetti, for a short
honeymoon to Canada and the
Thousand Islands. The bride trav-
eled in a dress of dusty rose alpaca
with white accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beyer will
be at home to their many friends at
the home of the bride's parents,
Town Line road.
Pre-nuptial parties for the popu-
lar bride included: variety shower,
given by Mrs. Howard Mayer and
Mrs. Wilfred Mayer at the home
of the former; variety shower by
Mrs. John Folmar; variety shower
by Mrs. Walter Beyer.
The office girls of the U. S. L.
Battery corporation, where the bride
was formerly employed, entertained
at a variety shower at the home of
Miss Martha Neubauer at Niagara
Falls. Mrs. Orin Draper entertain-
ed the Young Peoples Sunday school
class, of the Pekin Methodist church
in honor of the bride and groom
and they were presented with a
lovely mirror.
The Niagara County Welfare of-
fice staff at Lockport, where the
bride is now employed, gave a party
in the bride's honor and presented
her with several pieces of crystal
and other lovely gifts.

Mrs. Bagwell was born in the
Town of Wheafield, a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Christian Shenk, After
her marriage she moved to the
Town Line road north of Sanborn
where she had resided for a number
of years. She was an active
member of Sanborn Auxiliary, American
Legion.
Mrs. Bagwell was the mother of
Majorie, Donald, Robert and Richard
Bagwell, all at home; and sister
of Mrs. Esther Nelson, Irene and
Howard Shenk, of Sanborn, N. Y,
George Shenk. of Albany, N. Y,
Harrison Shenk, of Machias, N. Y„

The bride's mother wore a black

The couple left on a wedding trip,

Jacob K. Lauzonis, 81, of 2003
Rhode Island Ave., died Tuesday
(Aug. 2, 1966) at his home
after a long illness.
Born in Lithuania and a
naturalized citizen of the U.S.,
he came to this country in 1903,
and moved to Niagara Falls in
1918. He was employed by the
City of Niagara Falls for 10^
years, retiring in February of
1956. Prior to that he worked
for the Vanadium Corporation
of American for 15 years.
He is survived by six sons,
Joseph W. Lauzonis, Lewiston;
John Lauzonis, North Tonawanda;
Anthony Lauzonis, Jacob
Lauzonis Jr., and George Lauzonis,
all of this city, and William
Lauzonis, Buffalo; three
daughters, Mrs. Chester (Helen)
Wrobel, Mrs. John (Nellie) Tubinis,
Mrs. Walter (Patricia)
Schultz, all of this city; 28
grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Funeral services will be held
from the Zajac Funeral Home
Friday at 9:30 a.m. and at St.
George's R.C. Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven
Cemetery. There will be a recitation
of the Rosary at the funeral
home, Thursday at 8 p.m.
Friends may call today from 2
p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday
from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

retiring in 1957.
He was a member' of the

He is survived.by a daughter,

He was born in Glendora, CA, on September 10, 1962, the son of Neil I. Pokelwaldt and the late Helen A. (Wilcox) Pokelwaldt.Wes moved to Sanborn with his family in 1963. He attended and graduated from Starpoint Central School. He was a iron worker with Ironworkers Local # 9 in Niagara Falls, for over 20 years.Besides his father; he is survived by two daughters, Casey J. and Amy L. Pokelwaldt; three sisters, Deborah A. (Patrick) Barry, Linda Pokelwaldt and Sharon R. (Neil) Harvey; dear friend of Diana Daigler; his former wife, Jayne Lemke; also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Wes was the brother of the late Neil I. Pokelwaldt, Jr.There will be no prior visitation. In the street cleaning department,
was found dead in his bed at
his home. No. 108 Buffalo avenue,
about 6.30 o'clock this morning. Coroner
Scott was called and pronounced
death to be due to apoplexy. The
body was removed to McGrath and
Crowley's undertaking .rooms. Third
street.
About 6 o'clock this morning Mrs.
Alice Blundy. a daughter-in-law, heard
Blundy moving about his room. He
told her to call him at 7:30. Shortly
after six o'clock the woman, happened
to be near the room and was alarmed
at not hearing Blundy moving. She
Investigated closer and found her
father-in-law dead. His son.Alec
Blundy, for many years in the em-
ploy of the Kaltenbach hotel, died
some time ago.

(Aug. 29, 1961) in Mount View Hospital,. Lockport,
after a four months' illness.
At native of this city, she was the daughter of the
late Edwin and Hattie Biggar. The family moved to
Stamford, Ont., where she was educated. She returned
to this city and was employed as a secretary at the Acheson
Graphite Co.
In 1914 she was married to
Frederick W. Gray of this city.
She was superintendent of
the Beginners Department of
the Sunday S c h o o l of First
Presbyterian Church for 30
years and each year directed
a religious pageant on Children's
Day.
Member of Chorus
She sang in the B r a h ms
Chorus and the senior choirs
of First Presbyterian and also
St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
At First Presbyterian she directed
a junior choir. She also
was a member of the City Mission
board of directors.
She was a charter member
of the Mother's Round Table
and a m e m b e r of Niagara
Frontier Chapter No. 658, Order

issued certificates of accidental
death by drowning for two
Niagara Falls residents.
Charles Wynn, 69, of 454
Seventh St., and his grandson,
William G. Bishara, 14, of 456
Seventh St., drowned during
a fishing trip Sunday on the
wind-swept waters of Canandaigua
Lake, about 15 miles
northwest of here.
Ray J. Bishara, 16, William's
brother, and John B. Cox, 17,
of 624 Sixth St., both of Niagara
Falls, have been released
from F. F. Thompson
Hospital, Canandaigua, where
they were treated for exposure.
William was a 10th grade
student at South Junior High
School. He was a member of
the LaSalle J u n i o r Sports
mans Club.
Survivors include his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Bishara, at home; a grandmother,
Mrs. Charles Wynn
and three b r o t h e r s , Jay
Charles, Robert Richard and
Ray.
Mr. Wynn lived here for
25 years. He was a guard at
the Great Lakes Carbon Co.
plant here for the last 15
years.
He was a member of the
LaSalle Sportman's Club.
Survivors include his wife,

was capsized by high winds
and waves about 150 feet
from shore in 12 feet of water.
The party had been fishing
from about 7:30 a.m. and were
moving to a new location at
10 a.m. when the outboard
motor, failed, and the boat
drifted into the wind.

brother William to the surface
twice before the boy slipped
from his grasp.
Robert E. Kesel, 45, of Rochester,
was at his cottage on the
eastern shore of the lake when
he heard cries for help. Mr.
Kesel and his son, Gregory,
18, launched their boat and
rushed to the scene.

The former Lossie Whitmire
anti Howard Benjamin were married
Aug. 27,1921, in this
city and were residents of the
Town of Niagara for 38 years,
living at 3004 Lockport Road.
Mr.Benjamin was a Town
Justice of the Peace for 12
years and trustee of Nevada
Avenue School. He retired
from Penn Central Company
as an engineer in January 1971
after 52 years employment.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin aremembers
of the Niagara
United Presbyterian Church
and took part in a rededication
of their marriage, vows in
unison with other couples at a
recent church service.
Their daughters are Mrs.
Myrle Evans, at home, Mrs.
Earl (Audrey) Zinck, St.
Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs.
Arthur (Clara) Mayes,
Schenectady. They have five
grandchildren.

Mrs. Maria M. Wendt, 86, of
5277 Townllne Road, Pekln,
died Tuesday (Aug. 29,1972) in
Memorial Medical Center after
a long iUness.
A native of Bergholtz, she
had resided in Pekln since 1890.
She was a lifelong member of
St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.
She was the wife of the late
Edward A. Wendt, who died in
1957. Survivors include three
sons, Alfred a., Norman J.,
and Edmund R. Wendt, and a
sister, Mrs. Fred (Rachel) Van
DeWalter, all of Pekin. Ten
grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held
Friday at 2 p.m. at St. An-
drew's Lutheran Church with
the Rev. Albert H. Gaal of-
ficiating. Burial will be in St.
Andrew's Lutheran Cemetery.
