NORTH TONAWANDA - Harold H. Heuer, age 89, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on April 15, 1921 to the late John and Esther (Mueller) Heuer. Harold was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during World War II in the 896th Signal Company. He was employed at Hooker Chemical for 40 years and a half years until his retirement. Harold was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wheatfield and their Men's Club, American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451, Bergholz Volunteer Fire Co., Lutheran Layman's League, Town of Wheatfield Senior Citizens, North German Historical Society; volunteered at Meals On Wheels, Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood and North Gate Health Care Facility. Hobbies and interests included gardening, bowling and playing euchre.

Survivors include his wife, Jane E. (Pankow) Heuer. They were united in marriage February 9, 1946; four children, Curtis (Jeanne) Heuer, Mary (Henry) Striewing, Mark (Minerva) Heuer and Steven (Ann) Heuer; a brother, James Heuer; sister, Lydia Masters; five grandchildren, Nathan Heuer, Michael and Matthew Striewing, Virginia Kahmann and Jonathan Heuer; and a great-granddaughter, Briahnna Lynn. He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Heuer and a sister, Dorothy Wolf.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ronald D. Oravec on Thursday at 10:30 AM in St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

on Saturday evening ended with
a happy demonstration at the departure
of the bridal couple. A number of the
friends of Dr. Woodley and Miss Maddever
accompanied them to the station

being showered upon them. Dr. and
Mrs. Woodley will return from their,
honeymoon in about two weeks and will
take up their residence on Third street

are one brother and one sister

Church, Bergholtz, and the Golden
Age Club Niagara Falls.
He is survived by a son, Lincoln

She was a member of the
Wilson Golden Age Club.
In addition to Albert, she is
also survived by two other sons

Niagara Falls; a brother, Bert
Israel of here and two sisters,

Lockport, and Mrs. Ida Dietrick
of here. Also surviving are four
grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.

Mrs. John S. Haubert, Westwood, N
J., a former resident of this city and
well known here, died at the New York
hospital. New York City, Tuesday, after
an Illness of eight months. Her funeral
Is being held today, with burial fn
the Haubert family burial plot at
Hastings-on-the-Hudson.
Born In England, Mrs. Haubert, who
was before her marriage Miss Rose
Shoebridge, lived In this city for a
number of years before going to New
York about 30 years ago to' begin the
study of nursing at the New York hospital.
Surviving her, besides her husband,
are three _brothers, William J. and
Christopher H. Shoebridge, both of New
York, and Robert C. Shoebridge, this
city, and one sister, Mrs. Angus Mac-

was a member of the Knights of

The bride, given • In marriage by
her father, wore a gown of slipper
white satin, gathered at the waistline,
and trimmed with a lace collar
and tiny buttons down the back
The full skirt extended to a long
train: Her fingertip veil fell from
a Uoe Juliet cap. She carried a
prayer.book decked with an orchid
and lilies of the valley.
The maid of honor, Miss Carolyn
O. Carver, wore Ice green satin with
a matching Juliet cap and mitts.
She carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums
and yellow roses. The
bridesmaids, Mrs. Hugo C. Walck,
Miss Doris M. Jaehn, Miss Jean M.
Moeblus and Mrs. Earl H. Pelloth,
wore matching gowns, headdresses
and mitts of fuchla satin and carried
bouquets similar to that of the
maid of honor.
Mr. Hugo C. Walck. the bridegroom's
twin brother, was best man,
and the ushers were Robert P. Sommerfelt,
brother of the bride, and
Gordon Haseley, Norman A. Walck
and Irwin Mllleville, Niagara Palls.
About 330 guests attended the reception
at the Buffalo Trap and
Field club. The happy couple left
on a honeymoon througn the Adlrondacks
and the New England
states.

— Funeral services for Robert
Charles Davis, 28, of 82
Keil St., Korean war veteran
who became the City of Tonawanda's
first 1958 traffic fatality,
will be conducted at 2
p.m., Wednesday at the Wattengell
Funeral Home. The
Rev. Herman B. Miller of
Grace Lutheran Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Elmlawn
Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was. killed early Sunday
when his car struck a tree In
R. Niagara St., Tonawanda, in
front of the Exclon Corp. plant.
Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident
of this city and a 1949 graduate
of North Tonawanda High
School. After attending the University
of Buffalo, he was employed
by the Niagara-Mohawk
Power Corp. as a clerk in its
commercial accounting department.
Mr. Davis went overseas in 1951,
serving in Korea until 1954 when
he was discharged from the Army
with the rank of corporal. He was
a member of G r a c e Lutheran
Church, president of Active Hose
Co., a member of the North Tonawanda
Firemen's Benevolent Assn.
and of Post No. 264, American
Legion.
Surviving are his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Arnold Davis, with whom
he resided, and two sisters, Mrs.
Edward Struebing, this city, and
Mrs. Victor Anderson, Pittsburgh,
Pa.
Mr. Davis was driving west in
E. Niagara St., when his car failed
to negotiate a curve and struck
a tree, according to the report of
Patrolmen Herman Garrow, Robert
Ensminger and Howard Perry.
The police report said Mr. Davis
was pinned in the wreckage between
the front scat and. the floor
boards and firemen from the Niagara
Hose Co. were called to
extricate him. He was taken to
DeGraff Memorial Hospital, where
he was pronounced dead at 1:35
a.m. Sunday.
Coroner F. Eugene Ingram, Niagara
Falls, issued a certificate of
accidental d e a t h. He said Mr.
Davis died almost instantly.

a life-long resident of

tne late L'. Miles Nichols.
The farm is now operated
by her nephew, William E.
Nichols.
Mrs. Martin is the daught.
er of the late Lafayette M.
Nichols and Emma Root Nichols.
She is the widow-of Ruben
Martin, who died in 1927.
She has two daughters,
Mrs. Alva Barber, Lewiston,
and Mrs. Walter Hartman,
Niagara Falls. She also has
four grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
She is the great-greatgrandchild
of Robert Nichols who
is said to have come to Niagara
Falls on horseback from
Vermont in June 1816. He
was a stone mason who helped
build what was known as
"The Stone ' Church," the
Presbyterian Church in Lewiston,
between 1825-1835.

William A. Schultz, 87 years old. of
No 67 A street, Echota, for many
years an employee of the Carborun-
dum company, was fatally injured at
5:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon when
struck by a Falls-La Salle trolley car
in Buffalo avenue near Gill erect. He
died at 8 o'clock last night in Memorlal
hospital from brain concussion
and shock.
Mr. .Schultz was returning home
from work and started to cross Buffalo
avenue to get onto the Packard .
road and thence go to his home in A
street. He did not see the trolley car
approaching and was struck and
hurled to the pavement. Two men In
an automobile that was passing took
him to the hospital. Coroner Harry
R. Emes is investigating the accident.
Surviving Mr Schultz are his wife,
Caroline; four sons. Albert of La
Salle, William, of this city and John
and Fred, of this city: and five daughters.

National .Guard during World War
1. He belongs to Electromet's 25-

D. Grabau will be feted at a reception this evening by the members
of St. James Lutheran church, Bergholtz, in observance of their 50th
wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Grabau were both" born in
Buffalo and spent their early years in that city. They were married
there in 1903. Mr. Grabau was a school teacher and came to
Bergholtz in 1906 where he assumed the duties of teacher in the
St. James' parochial school and served in that capacity for 40 years
until his retirement in 1946. They were both active in church
affairs with Mr. Grabau having served as church organist and
choir director since 1906. He is in the insurance business in the
Bergholtz area.
