Bray. 77, of 321 Ford avenue, who died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday in Pritchard pavilion of St. Law- rence State hospital where he had been a patient five weeks, was held this morning at the Lalonde-Briggs fu- neral home and Notre Dame church at 9. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret M. Bray; a daugh- ter, Mrs. Patrick W. O'Grady, Odgdensburg; three sons, Robert W., Ogdensburg; Richard A., Mohawk; John J. Bray, Cincinnati, O.; a sister, Mrs. Rena Miller, Fremont,, Calif.; a brother, Leo, Punta Gorda, Fla., and 13 grand- children. Mr. Bray was born in Og- densburg, Sept. 30, 1887, a son of Andrew and Caroline Boyer Bray. In 1919, he mar- ried Miss Margaret Jacobs at St. Mary's cathedral. The late Rt. Rev. Msgr. Edmund J. Brown officiated. Mr. Bray formerly was a marine engineer on the Great Lakes. In 1932, he joined the customs service, to which he was appointed by the late John C. Tulloch, former col- lector of St. Lawrence District 7, and served 15 years in the headquarters office. He later served as a customs inspector in Cincinnati. O.. ten years. He retired in 1957. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Lucy, and four brothers, Clifford and Henry LaLonde. of Fulton, George LaLonde. of Watertown. and Charles LaLonde, of Cleveland, Ohio. Amo, 65, of 545 Theresa St., died Friday evening at 6:45 in the Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, where he had been a patient since May 23. The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Cum mings Funeral Home, Clay- ton and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Besides his wife, Mrs. Nina G. LeClair Aamo, he is sur- vived by two brothers, Her- bert Amo, Watertown, and Gordon Amo, Santa Barbara, Calif.; nieces and nephews. Born June 20, 1903, at Clayton, a son of Louis and Anna Brabant Amo, he attended St. Mary's School and for the past year had been employed as school bus driver, transporting pupils from Clayton to Watertown to attend Im maculate Heart Central School. He was a former employe of the New York Air Brake Co., Watertown, and of the Frink Sno Plow Co., Clayton. On May 5. 1934, he married Miss Nina LaClair of Canton at St. Mary's Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. George E. Racette. Mr. Amo was a member of Thousand Islands Council,, Knights of Columbus,, Fourth Degree, and the Northern New York Volunteer Fire- men's Association. | 32006 | Watertown NY Daily Times - 5/27/1925 Natural Bridge, May 27.-Just how Melvin Bray, ??-year-old oiler came to be caught between the pinion and the 50-toot gear under- neath the rotary kiln and cooler at the plant of the Basic Refractories corporation, which resulted in his death here yesterday morning, will never be known. This was revealed at an inquest held at the company's office by Dis- trict Attorney E.. R.. Wilcox late yesterday afternoon. There was no eye witnesses to the fatal acci- dent. Six employes of the company testified at the inquest and each said that he did not see his fellow workman become entangled in the year and meet death. The inquest showed that Bray was not oiling the machinery at the time. His oil can was about three feet from the pinion and gear. The pinion and gear work upwards, an investigattion showed, and the bot- tom of the pinion ger which con- nects with the big 50-tooth year is only eleven inches from the ground. It was in this small space that Bray's right arm was caught. His arm was worn from its socket, his head was dragged between the teeth of the pinion and the big gear and mangled badly. The acci- dent resulted in the power being shut out instantly. Basti Cooper,, brother-in-law of Bray, was the first attracted to the scene. He was his relative lying on the ground under- neath the pinion and then spread the alarm to other workmen in the place, saying "Mel is caught in the machinery and is dying." When the workmen arrived Bray was dead. It is believed that he was killed almost instantly. Eward Van Tassel, foreman; Ar- thur J.. Sechrist,, superintentent; Ora Pack,, burner; Glen Williams, machinist, and Paul andrus and Everett Peck, laborers, were worn at the hearing. All testified that Bray wa a temperate man and of a pleasant disposition. District Attorney Wilcox is of the brlief that Bray slipped as he was walking by the pinion and gear and fell underneath. The district at- torney declared that it was not a suicide. The wife of the ded man said that he left the house at 7 yes- terday morning in the best of spirits and that they never had any serious quarrels. The deceaed was the main sup- port of a family of 13 children. Six were his children by his first wife while his second wife had five chil- dren when he married her. It also was her second marriage. Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bray since their marriage five years ago. Bray earned $21 a week at the plant where he had been em- ployed for four years. | BRAY, Melvin (I168014)

D. 1, a retired farmer and a former employe of the Frink Sno Plow company at Clayton for 20 years, died Friday night at 6:30 at the Jefferson County hospital, Watertown, where he was admitted April 30. Mr. Fraser suffered a stroke Jan. 4, 1965 and had been confined at home since. The funeral will be Monday morning at 11 at the Cummings funeral home, Clayton, with Rev. Frank M. MacLaughlin, pastor of Depauville- LaFargeville Methodist c h u r c h e s , officiating. Burial will be at Freeman district cemetery, near Chaumont. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 and Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 and evening from 7 to 9. Mr. Fraser was born on Grindstone Island Feb. 12, 1891, the son of George and Ora Murdock Fraser. He attended schools at Clayton. He spent most of his life in the area except 'for a period of ten years when he and his wife resided at New Milford, Conn., where he was employed as a caretaker. His first wife, Florence Brabant Fraser, died in December, 1928. On Sept. 30, 1932, he married Miss Ethel Stennberg at' her home. Mr. Fraser is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Stennberg Fraser; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) McCormack, Ramsey, N. J.; two sons, John Fraser, Clayton, R. D. 2, and Clarence W. Escorted by her step-father, Gerald Kempney, the bride wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over organza, styled with an Empire waist, round neckline, long sleeves and accented with a detachable train of Chantilly lace. A crown of lace and seed pearls held her bouffant veil of silk illusion. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and chrysanthemums c e n t e r ed with an orchid. Miss Mary Helen Bazinet was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Martha Cipullo and Miss Jo Ann Eschenberg. Mary Ellen Bazinet was flower girl and Brian Bushaw was ring bearer. William Brabant was best man. Ushers were Robert Clarke, brother of the bride, and Robert Bazinet, brother of the bridegroom. A reception is being held at the C.-Way Tourinn. | 32011 | Watertown NY Daily Times - 6/16/1970 MOIRA - Leland James Woods, 36, Moira, was fatally insured Monday afternooon at 4:30 at his home when a 55- gallon drum exploded as he attempted to cut the top with an acetylene torch. Woods was declared dead on arrival at Alice Hyde Hospital, Malone, State Police at Malone said traces of tar at the bottom of the drum apparently caused the explosion. The body was released to the Flint Funeral Home in Moira, where friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Brushton. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Woods is survived by his widow, Mrs., S a n d r a. July 21.-The second drowning of the year occurred at this place yesterday afternoon when Francis, the eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Pelow, in some manner fell Into the St. Lawrence. On Sunday afternoon he was at the New York Central wharf where the accident occurred and again yesterday afternoon he was seen there at about 2. W. G. Hodkln of New York, who Is a visitor at this resort, went down to the wharf about 3 to fish and fished for about an hour with little luck. Then he felt something heavy hooked on his line and pulling up was startled to see the body of a small boy. When he attempted to bring the body from the water, however, the line broke and it dropped again to the bottom. Station Master Cole was notified of the discovery and he secured a set of grappling hooks and after one unsuccessful attempt succeeded in raising the body, which was recognised as that of the Pelow child. Doctors were immediately called and attempts at resuscitation was made, but the body had been too long in the water for the efforts to be successful. Health Officer H. J. Frame was notified and gave permission to have the body removed to the undertaking establishment of A. A. Barnhart * Son. The father of the boy Is chief engineer of the steamer Nipplgon, sailin g on the Great Lakes, and could not be notified until today, when it is expected he will reach Detroit Besides the parents there are two brothers and two sisters surviving. | 32014 | Watertown NY Daily Times - 7/7/1924 Robert A. Towne, 3-year-old eon ef Mr. aad Mra. Roy A. Towne, of the Adams Center road was struck by an automobile driven by William Roaby of Norfolk at 6:30 Sunday night and fatally Injured. The accident was said by eye witnesses to be unavoidable. There waa a atriag of several cars paeslag. Two children ran down the road and seeing a chance, darted acroea to the other- side. They were followed by the little Towne lad, who hesitated while one car passed. Another, the one which struck him was about 20 feet behind the first As soon aa the first car which was driven by Dr. O. A. Foote of Dexter had passed, the lad ran into the path of the approaching car. Roaby. the driver, turned clear into the ditch on the left hand side of the road la aa attempt to avoid the accident but could not. The little fellow was struck by the right hand fender of the car and knocked to the road. The fall broke hia left leg and caused other severe injuries, resulting ln concussion of the brain. The driver of the car collapsed and could do nothing to aid the boy. Dr. Foote, who aaw the accident, returned and rendered first aid. He then took the lad to the Mercy hospital arriving there a little after He waa assisted there by Dr. Maurice D. Barnette. The boy's leg was set and he regained consciousness and rallied for a short time. It waa believed then that he would survive. However, the boy waa suffering from a severe concussion ot the brain, and his life faded out at about 8:30. Robert Towne was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Towne. Gerald Bazinet 63, of 608 Theresa St., retired shipping clerk of the Clayton Manufacturing Co., was found dead in his car this morning about 11:15 Apparently feeling ill, he had stopped the car beside the road, as he was returning home after having been to the village dump. He had a heart condition the past two and a half years. The body was taken to the Cummings Funeral Home Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (June) Hill, and two sons, Robert G. and Harry W., all of Clayton; five broth- ers and two sisters; Mrs. J. Bernard (Doris) Wade, Chi cago, Ill., Noel A., Clayton, a sailor on the Great Lakes, J. George and Amos W., both of Clayton, Lawrence F., Niagara Falls, Mrs. Otis (Rosemary) Radley, Cape Vincent, and Leonard A., who left this morning for his home in Niagara Falls after visiting here, and eight grandchildren. Two brothers, Donald J. and Charles H have died. Robert Gerald Bazinet was born June 7,1906, in Clayton, one of ten children of Joseph and Helen Brabant Bazinet. He attended local schools and spent his life in Clayton. He was employed, as shipping clerk for Clayton Manufacturing Co., retiring because of his health two years ago, after wprking for the company 46 years. On April 18, 1927, he mar- ried Miss Edith May Higgins, a native of Point Peninsula, in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rosiere. Mrs. Bazi- net died at the age of 57 on April 20, 1965. She was married to Harlan Howard Handley Oct. 20, 1934, at the Methodist parsonage here. She worked with her husband in Handtey's Bakery. Then she was employed for three years by the Randies Manufacturing Co. She had been an attendant at the St Lawrence State Hospital 17 years, until her illness. She was active in women's bowling. He was a major in the Marine Corps, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. On Feb. 1, 1947, he married Jean A. Kelly in Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Company in 1980 after 30 years of employment. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Judy) Santo of Saugus, ' Mass., and Mrs. Shawn (Debra) Sullivan of Billerica, Mass,; three sons, Michael Beha of New Hartford, Timothy Beha of Whitesboro and Patrick Beha of Washington, N. J.; three sisters, Bertha Rowley of Waterville, Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Dunn of Oneida and Mrs. Dorothy Beha of Ontario; a brother, Joseph Beha of Waterville; six grandchildren, Kelly, Heather, Jessica, Christine, Kaitlyn and Zachary; nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Cecilia Roldon and Mary Cravotta and a brother, John Beha. He attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Wheatfield High School, and later attended Buffalo State Teachers College. On August 25, 1973, he married Sherry L. (Henry) Printup at the Tuscarora Baptist Church. Wayne was a member of the Roofers Local No. 74 for forty years working on numerous commercial buildings in the Western New York area until his retirement. He was a passionate Indian and Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing and shooting pool. Wayne was also very artistic and a talented painter and drawer. Above all Wayne was devoted to his family and his greatest pleasure was spending time with them. Wayne also served as secretary for Allie Brandt’s and Townline Bowling Alley leagues. During his spare time he enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing and loved feeding and watching his birds. His battle with B-Cell Lymphoma this year showed his courage in facing life challenges with a positive attitude. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. Chuck was born January 6, 1940, in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated from Bishop Duffy High School, Niagara Falls, in 1957 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit in 1962. Chuck married Rebecca “Becky” Phillips, the love of his life, on November 30, 1963 in Niagara Falls, NY. He began his 40-year career with Western Electric/AT&T Technologies/Lucent in Buffalo, NY in 1961. The family moved to Greensboro, NC in 1969 and then to Lilburn, GA in 1973. One of his most enjoyable assignments was living in Santiago, Chile overseeing the building of their mobile networks. Chuck retired in 2001 and remained in Lawrenceville, GA until moving to Wimauma, FL in 2016. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, camping, and supporting the various Atlanta hockey teams. After retirement he loved attending his grandson’s sporting events and traveling throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and the Mediterranean. One of his favorite things was relaxing at the beach and we have many fond memories of him at our annual beach trip with family and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his son Robert Charles Argy; his brother Alan Thomas Argy; his parents Charles Henry Argy, Sr. and Helen Stivers Argy. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rebecca Phillips Argy; son Michael Argy (Saul Reyes) of Dallas, TX; daughter Renee Argy Sullivan (Shawn) of Sandy Springs, GA; Grandchildren Patrick, Ryan, and Liam Sullivan; many loving brothers and sisters in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews. They wore wine c- olored gowns with ruffled necklines, capelet sleeves and bustle skirts. They carried nosegays of wine and pink car nations and roses. Allen Sharrow was his brother's best man. Ushers were David Bubb, Frank Sharrow and Doug Bond. After a reception at the Palmyra Moose Club, the newlyweds left on a honeymoon trip to the Poconos Moun- tains. They will make their new home in Webster. The bride is a 1982 graduate of R.L. Thomas School and a 1983 graduate of Rochester Business Institute. A resident of Webster for 66 years, s h e graduated from Webster High School. Mrs. Heiden was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Myers Community Hospital Twig Assn., Order of the Eastern Star and Women of Rochester Rotary. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, where she organized the Applet Golf Tournament for Seniors. She is survived by her husband.Erwin of North Rose: daughter.
