30854 The "Amherst Bee" had an obituary for "MRS. MARY WESTPHAL. Mrs. Mary Westphal, widow of the late Jacob Westphal, passed away after only a week's illness. She was stricken on Monday, Nov. 26, with a paralytic stroke, which caused her death on Saturday evening, Dec. 1, 1917, at 9:30 o'clock. She was not able to speak an endearing word of farewell to her loving children, which she endeavored to do when they, with Rev. Haller, surrounded her bedside. Time and time again she tried but all in vain. Mrs. Westphal was a good member of the Wendelville St. Paul's Church, and a prominent member of the Ladies' Aid, where she will be greatly missed as she attended the meetings regularly. She was always kind and willing to help in all church work. But we must say, 'God's will be done at all times, not ours'. She had reached the age of 52 years, 9 months and 15 days. She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter and two sons, Mary and Philip at home and Walter Westphal of Barres Swamp, also two brothers and two sisters, Jacob Wagner of South Ridge road, Philip Wagner, Mrs. Charles Moyer and Mrs. Chas. Stahl of Wendelville. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and at 1.30 at St. Paul's Church. Burial in the family lot at Bear Ridge cemetery. the floral tributes were large and beautiful, the Ladies' Aid presenting a large wreath. The bearers were Messrs. Conrad and Philip Voelpel, Seymour Graff, John D. Bayer and Frank Gebhardt. Rev. Haller officiated." WAGNER, Anna Maria (I220638)
