Townsend entertained at a family
dinner party at Lyon's Tea room
in honor of the Forty-fifth wedding
anniversary of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Edgar Townsend, Townline
road. The table was centered with a
tiered wedding cake. Appropriate
music was played on the organ during
the dinner and "Oh Promise
Me," was sung by the soloist.
Mrs. Townsend wore a corsage of
mums and Mr. Townsend a carnation
bouttonaire presented by their
eldest son, Clarence, and his wife.
Edgar Townsend. formerly of
Cambria Center, and the former
Bertha Reed, West Sweden, were
united in. marriage, October 16, 1907
at the home of the bride, by the
Rev. W. H. G. Lewis, who was rector
of St. Luke's Episcopal church,
Brockport, of which both were members,
The bride was attended by her sister.
Mrs. Gilbert Hiam, Pekin, as
maid pi honor and Mrs. Otto Hemline,
Darian Center, sister of the
bridegroom, as ring bearer. Clarence
M. Townsend, Town of Niagara,
was his brother's best man. The
wedding music was played by John
Liese, Rochester a cousin of Mrs.
Townsend. The couple made their
home in Brockport moving to Niagara
county in 1915.
Mr. and Mrs. Townsend are the
parents of four sons, Clarence A.,
Lockport: Donald, Niagara Falls;
Raymond, Cambria Center and Wilson,
Sanborn, and one daughter,
Helen, who resides with her parents.
They also have 19 grandchildren.
