Ruth Strasburg
Wed to Officer
Before an altar banked with
white chrysanthemums and white
shasta daisies, Miss Ruth Strasburg,
Hall Apts., daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Strasburg, was united
in marriage to Lt. JohnH. Schmadebeck,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John C.
Schmadebeck, Detroit, Mich.
The ceremony was performed
this afternoon at 2 o'clock, at Trinity
Lutheran Church with the Rev.
Paul J. Hartenberger officiating.
Escorted to the altar by her
brother, Mr. James Strasburg, the
bride wore a gown of iridescent
taffeta, designed along princess lines
with a tulip neckline. She wore a
dusty pink feather hat and carried
a crescent shaped bouquet of delicate
pink chrysanthemums.
Mrs. James W. Strasburg, matron-
of-honor, chose a gown of
grape blue taffeta with azure accessories
and carried a crescent
bouquet of matching* flowers.
The flower girl, Susan Jane Strasburg,
wore a dusty pink shantung
dress with a tiered skirt and she
carried matching chrysanthemums.
Mr. George C. Meyers, Royal
Oak, Mich., was best man and
ushers were Mr. Arthur Baker and
Mr. Cecil E. Cook, Dearborn, Mich.
Mrs. Donald A. MacKenzie,
Cleveland, Ohio, cousin of the bride,
was organist for the wedding and
Mrr. Robert Jordon sang "O Perfect
Love" and "The Wedding
Prayer."
The wedding reception is being
held this afternoon from 41 to 6
o'clock at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. James Strasburg, Pasadena
Ave. The bride's table will be
adorned with a centerpiece of white
chrysanthemums, and a tiered wedding
cake encircled with asparagus
fern.
Lt. and Mrs. Schmadebeck will
travel through the southern states,
and for her wedding trip the bride
will wear a three piece black and
white knitted suit, with winter white
accessories, and a corsage of white
mums.
The bridegroom will resume duty
with the U. S. Navy military sea
transportation service in the Atlantic
area after the honeymoon
and Mrs. Schmadebeck will return
to live at the Hall Apts.
