WESLEY UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH was
the setting Saturday, (Oct. 9,
1971) for the 4 p.m. double-ring
ceremony uniting Barbara
Elaine Walker and Robert
David Smith in marriage. The
Rev. Kenneth E. Taxler officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A.
Walker Sr., 426 101st St., and
the bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence R.
Smith, 8219 Krull'Pkwy.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of gardenia white
silk organza and Venise lace.
The gown has styled with a
mandarin collar and empire
bodice accented with lace
motifs. Long tapered sleeves
edged with lace and lace trim
on the A-line skirt and chapel
length train were featured. A
matching camelot headpiece
secured her elbow length veil
and she carried a cluster of
shasta daisies with accents of
green.
MRS. WILLIAM SWANSON,
sister of the bride, was matron
of honor. She wore a pink crepe
gown with scooped neckline,
rose velvet ribbon on the
bodice and sleeves and a
matching velvet choker. She
wore a velvet bow in her hair
and carried a cascade of
daisies.
The bridesmaids, Mrs.
Douglas Keil, sister of the
bride, Mrs. Clarence Walker
Jr., Miss Debbie Anderson,
Mrs. Douglas Ferry were
similarly gowned in aqua, mint
green, plum and lavender. Lisa
Jean Walker, sister of the
bride, was flower girl and wore
a yellow gown with gold velvet
trim.
William Swanson was best;
man. Ushers were Douglas.
Keil, Clarence Walker Jr.,
brother of the bride, Donald
Smith, brother of the
bridegroom and Douglas
Ferry. Donald Walker, brother
of the bride was ring-bearer.
An evening reception was
held at the Frontier Fire Hall.
On their return from a motor
trip to the New England States
the couple will reside in this
city.
