Joy Jacobson, finance director of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, was married in Middleburg, Va., yesterday to Gerald Felix Warburg 2d, foreign policy and defense adviser to Senator Alan Cranston, Democrat of California. The Rev. John Thomas of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Annandale, Va., performed the ceremony at the home of Mrs. Frederick M. Warburg, widow of the bridegroom's great-uncle, the sportsman, financier and philanthropist.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jacobson of Laguna Beach, Calif. Mr. Warburg, a son of Felix M. Warburg of San Francisco and Sandol Milliken Stoddard of Holualoa, Hawaii, is named for his grandfather the late Gerald F. Warburg, the cellist and music patron.
Joni Jacobson was maid of honor for her sister, and Jason Clement Warburg was his brother's best man.
The bride, who received bachelors' degrees in political science and marine biology from the University of California at Berkeley, was deputy press secretary to Senator Cranston and finance director of the Cranston for Senate campaign last year. Her father is an architect in Laguna Beach.
Mr. Warburg graduated from Hampshire College and received a master's degree in international relations from Stanford University. He was a legislative assistant to Representative Jonathan B. Bingham, Democrat of New York. His previous marriage ended in divorce. His father is an architect in San Francisco. The bridegroom is a great-grandson of the late Felix M. Warburg, the financier and philanthropist.
