NORTH RIDGE - Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Wilkins, 4338 Church Road, announce the
engagement of their daughter, Miss Sharon
Marie Wilkins, 825 K. 43rd Place. Gary, lnd.,
to Charles Burkert Fleming, 430 S. Grand
Blvd., also Gary. is the son of Charles
Fleming, North Vernon. Ind-., and Mrs.
Charles Kelly, Madison, lnd.
Miss Wilkins is a graduate of Wilson Central
High School, and Valparaiso University,
Valparaiso, Ind.
Mr. Fleming is a graduate of Franklin
High School, Franklin, Ind., and Hanover College.
Hanover, lnd.
Miss Wilkins and Mr. Fleming are teachers
ai Edison School. Gary, and graduate students
at Indiana University.
A summer wedding is being planned.

ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN Church, North
Ridge, was the setting for the marriage of
Miss Sharon Marie Wilkins and Charles
Burkert Fleming. The Rev. David Musall and
the Rev. Carl W. Oldach officiated Saturday
(June 26,1971) at the double ring service.
The bride is the daughter of Mr., and Mrs.
Harold E. Wilkins, 4338 Church Road,
Lockport. Mr. Fleming is the son of Charles
Fleming, North Vemon, Ind., and Mrs.
Charles Kelly, Madison, Ind.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride
wore, an organza gown with bands of Swiss
lace at the neckline, long sleeves and bordering
the A-line skirt and sweep train. Lace
appliques. were scattered, on the, gown. She
. wore a matching crown of lace which held
her chapel length veil.and carried a cascade
of white carnations surrounding a white orchid.
MISS BARBARA WILKINS was honor attendant
for her sister. Her pink voile gown
was fashioned with ruffles at the .high
neckline, cuffs of the long sleeves and edging
the A-line skirt. She wore a picture hat and
carried a navy blue parasol and Pink carnations.
Similarly styled gowns were worn by the
bridesmaids, Mrs. Joyce Rohring, Wilson;
Mrs. Brenda - Hurtgam, Ransomville; Mrs.
Katherine Bernthal, Sherervilte, Ind.; Mrs.
Jane Dickmeyer, Fort Wayne, Ind.; junior
bridesmaid, Marjorie Fields, Merrillville, Ind.,
and flower girl, Dawn Wilkins, Macedon.
William Carrigan, Gary, was best man.
Ushers were Gary Schwartz, Gary and Mario
Dbngu, Hammong,. Ind.; Stuart Eernthal,
Schererville; Nevin Wagner, Dayton, Ohio;
Karl Wilkins, Lockport.
A reception was held at Cambria Community
Center. After a wedding trip to Montreal,
Que., and the Adirondack area, Mr.
and Mrs. Fleming will live at 175 E. 58th
Ave., Merrillville. The newlyweds are both
teachers at Edison School, Gary.
