On Wednesday afternoon, April
4, at 5 p. m.. Miss Betty Jane
Woodrich, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William D. Woodrich, of 258
Wheeler street, became the bride
of Technical Sergeant Kenneth
D. Dahl, U. S. Army Signal Corps
son of Mr. Carl A. Dahl, at a
candle-light service. The double
ring ceremony was performed by
Rev. Walter F. Hetzel. in Salem
church, Tonawanda. Miss Carrie
Oswald, organist, played the traditional
wedding music; and Norman
B. Allan, soloist, sang "Because"
preceding the ceremony,
and "Oh Promise Me" and "The
Lord's Prayer" during the ceremony.
The bride, who entered the
church with her father, wore a
period gown of white marquisette
with drop shoulders, long sleeves
with ruffles over the hands, and
the hoop skirt was encircled with
large ruffles as was the long, full
train. Her veil of illusion was
caught at each side with a cluster
of orange blossoms. She carried
a cascade of gardenias centered
with a purple orchid.
Mrs. George H. Lang, cousin of
the bride, was matron-of-honor.
Her gown was of aqua net and
was fashioned with a sweetheart
neckline and full skirt. The neckline
and skirt were outlined with
self-ruffles. She carried a cas-
cade of yellow daisies and white
iris and she wore an a r r a nge ment
of yellow daisies in her hair.
Little Allen Eggert, cousin of the
bride, was ring bearer. He wore
a Navy blue Eaton suit and carried
a white pillow containing the
rings .
Harold Hopkins, Jr., nephew of
the groom attended as best man
and the ushers were Maynard Dahl
and Frank Krall. ,
The brides mother wore a Navy
blue suit and accessories and her
corsage was of spring flowers.
Following the ceremony a reception
was held at the church
hall for the families and a few
close friends. The young couple
left on a short trip, the bride
wearing a Navy blue suit with
matching accessories. At the conclusions
of his furlough, the groom
will return to his oversees station
