Miss Shirley Carter, formerly
of Columbus, Ohio,
and Gerald R. Ziehl, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Ziehl
of Falls Blvd., were united
in marriage in a candlelight
service in St. Martin's
Lutheran Church. The altar
of the church was
adorned with white stock
and white chrysanthemums
for the double ring cremony
performed by t h e Rev.
Arthur Hornislu
Mrs. Frank Prohaska was organist
for the ceremony and Robert
Zastrow. the soloist. Nuptial solos
were "The Lord's Prayer and
"With This Ring."
The bride wore a Romanesque
lype gown of Chantilly lace over
white satin with long sleeves, an illusion
yoke and tiered skirt. Her
shoulder length veil was caught to
a lace headpiece enhanced with
seed pearl beading. She carried a
colonial bouquet of white roses and
pompons.
Miss Sue Carter, maid of honor
for her sister, wore a gown of forest
green velvet with a strapless
bodice and nylon net over taffeta
skirt. A matching stole of net covered
her shoulders and her headpiece
matched the gown. She carried
a colonial bouquet of yellow
roses, and yellow and bronze pompons.
Donald Ziehl attended his brother
as best man and ushers were
Donald Wurl and F. William Dischinger.
Mrs. Ziehl, the bridegroom's
mother, chose a blue taffeta dress
and black accessories. Miss Faye
Carter, the bride's sister wore a
beige dress accented with black
accessories. Their corsages were of
pink and white French carnations.
A reception was given in the
home of the bridegroom's parents
in Old Falls Blvd.
Showers for the bride were given
by the Misses Gloria and Diane
Poyfair, cousins of the bridegroom,
Mrs. Donald G. Ziehl. Mrs. Carl
Ziehl. Mrs. F. Wm. Dischinger and
Jhe Misses Faye and Sue Carter.
