The marriage of Miss Joan
Bockhahn, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Bockhahn of 206
William St., Tonawanda to James
Haggerty of 57 A. Central Lane
was solemnized on Saturday Jan.
28 at 7 p.m. in Salem Evangelical
and Reformed Church.
The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
"I Love You Truly", "Because"
and "Thine Alone" were
sung by the soloist, Everett Russell.
Evelyn Gary Miller was the
organist.
The bride wore a gown of
white lace with a fitted bodice
and full skirt accentuated with a
hoop and extending into a chapel
length train. She wore long
gloves of matching lace. Her
finger-tip veil of illusion was
caught to a tiara of pearls. Given
in marriage by her father, she
carried a bouquet of white carna-
tions and gardenias.
Mrs. Marion Little, sister of
the bride, matron of honor wore
a gown of pink brocaded satin
and carried a bouquet of pink
carnations and wore matching
flowers in her hair. Mrs. Helen
Haggerty, wearing a gown of
blue satin, and Mrs. Shirley
Perry, wearing aqua satin, were
bridesmaids. Both carried bouquets
of deep pink carnations
in their hair.
Cornelius Swartout attended as
best man. Ushers were Jack
Little and William Haggerty.
A crepe dress of Barkley Blue
was worn by the brides' mother,
Mrs. Bockhahn. Mrs. Haggerty,
mother of the groom, chose a teal
blue crepe dress. Their corsages
were of red roses and carnations.
Showers for the bride were
given by Mrs. Helen Haggerty,
Mrs. Shirley Perry, Mrs. Elsie
Wildt, Mrs. Esther Chase, Mrs.
Beatrice Vogt, Mrs. Loretta Graf
and Mrs. Gladys Edwards.
After their wedding trip to
Cleveland and points West, Mr..
and Mrs. Haggerty are at home
in 208 William St.
