Basket of white gladioli decorated the alter of St. John
the Baptist Church in Kenmore for the marriage on June
19 of Miss Katherine E. Meyers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Eugene F. Meyers to William G. Bacon, Jr. 'The Rt. Rev.
Charles Klauder officiated. Mrs. Robert Giusseppetti (Marie
Bacon), sister of the groom was soloist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride selected a gown of chantilly
lace and nylon tulle over satin.
It was fashioned with a fitted
bodice of lace over satin with a
yoke of delicate illusion. Long lace
sleeves formed a point on her
hand. The bouffant skirt of tulle
had an over piece of scalloped
which widened at the back to a
panel and extended with a sweep
train. Her veil of French illusion
was caught to a Chantilly lace cap,
studded with seed pearls and she
carried a fan of white roses and
lilies-of-the-valleys.
Miss loretta Meyers, sister of
the bride was maid-of-honor. She
wore a waltz-length gown of dream
blue nylon tulle and lace over taf-
feta fashioned in a Botany neck-
line in a lace bodice and lace fish-
tail peplum. Her head-piece con-
sisted of a halo, fashioned with
lilies-of-the-valley and white net.
She carried a white lace fan with
yellow carnations. The bridesmaids
wore similar gowns and head
pieces of orchid and maize, and
carried fans with red and yellow
carnations. They were Miss Mary
Ellen Meyers, cousin of the bride
and Mrs. John Clark.
The little flower girl, Nancy
Townsend, cousin of the groom
wore a floor-length gown of net
and lace over taffeta with a dutch
cap and carried a fan with pink
carnations.
Robert Bacon, brother of the
bridegroom was best man and the
ushers were Robert Giuseppetti
and Donald Kreger.
The bride's mother favored a
gown of coral lace over taffeta. A
contrasting hat and orchid corsage
completed her costume. The bridegroom's
mother was attired in a
navy blue lace gown over taffeta,
wearing a fiesta-pink hat and
matching corsage.
After the ceremony a wedding
breakfast was given in the Shadow
Box Room at Howard Johnson's for
the immediate families and out-oftown
guests which included Mr.
and Mrs. William Herrmann and
son, Leo of Richmond Hill, Long
Island.
A reception was given in the eve-
ning at Kenilworth Fire Hall. The
couple left for a trip through the
New England States. They will be
at home in Kenmore after July 15.
